What do we get? How does it work? My DH would like to stay concierge, it is 25 points more than savanah view. Is it worth the 25 points?

TIA.

I took a peek at the concierge breakfast the last time I was there. It looked very nice and very relaxed compared to the hecktic counter service eatery.
It's on the top floor overlooking the main lodge. I didn't see the evening offering or know for sure if there is one. (there must be) I'll also be watching this thread for someone who used it to give more details! I wonder if it comes with the grand villa ?:

I have used it and will continue to use it. I think it is very much worth the extra points. It's worth more if you are going to be sticking around the resort more.

If you are one to be at park opeing and stay til closing then it won't be of much use to you to spend the extra points. We tend to relax getting up now and spend more time at the resort. Nightime offerings are as wonderful. I especially love the acorn squash soup. It's not there every night but it's good when it is.

The staff is awesome and very helpful. If you need something and can't find it, they'll find it for you. They were even able to help me get a ressie I wasn't able to get on my own.

Turn down is one of my favorite parts. An African saying and chocolate on your pillow every night..... Mmmmmm ! Some of them make really cool towel animals too !!

Whatever you do, don't make Concierge reservations and get the dining plan cuz it's way too much food.

so it's food? contintental breakfast or bacon & eggs? coffee. is it more than food?

Just be aware that there are only a handful of Concierge rooms at AKV (less than a dozen, I believe) so they can be very hard to get, even for AKV owners. Definitely call as soon as your booking window opens if you want the best chance of getting one.

There is a lounge that is only available to those staying on the Concierge level. It offers continental breakfast items, some cookies/light snacks in the afternoon, appetizers in the evening and desserts/wine/cordials at night.

There are a total of 5 Two Bedroom lock offs, so a max total of available Concierge rooms would we 10 (5 studios and 5 one bedrooms)

And I agree you need to call as soon as your window opens up.

What are the views from the Concierge rooms?
Of the five 2BR lockoffs, three face the Sunset Savanna and two face the pool area. The rooms are on the 6th floor so the views from the savanna view rooms are not that great - you are in a corner of the Sunset Savanna and above the tree level so the tree tops block a lot of the view. The thatch roof also intrudes into your balcony area and blocks some of the view. We stayed Concierge level so that we could do the Sunrise Safari which is available only to Concierge guests. We missed having a great savanna view from our balcony but felt it was worth it for the opportunity to do the Sunrise Safari. We also did the Wanyama (aka Sunset) Safari which is less expensive for Concierge guests ($160/person instead of $210) so for an hour and a half, we had the best savanna view you can get at AKL/AKV and that helped to make up for the "so so" view the rest of our stay.
