We will be on our first trip to WDW since I started collecting Pins January 5-13. What are Super Pin Traders? Are they CMs? Where are good locations to find good pins? I don't know if I'm brave enough to try and trade with other guests are there good locations where CMs have good pins? What are the best locations to find good pins to buy?

Can anyone help!!

The Super Pin Traders I speak on on my site are Disney CM. Found at Epcot. They have 70 disney pins on the vests they wear and do seminars at 12-3-6 at Pin central. When they are not at Pin Central they are walking around epcot.
I hope this helps.

I'm going to give this a shot, hopefully some one will correct me if i'm wrong

The super Pin Traders are all CMs. Each park has one or more. They walk around the parks trading and are wearing vests that contain 50 or more pins normally. They also are responsible for running the various pin seminars. Amy, Mike and Darin are based out of Epcot. They do pin seminars at 12-3-6 daily at Pin Central. Scoop does Seminars at Expo Hall at Magic Kingdom 1pm Monday -Thursday. I haven't read who the super pin traders are in the other parks, though i do know they are supposed to have them. when trading in the parks CMs wearing Lanyards technically have to trade with you. Just make sure that you are polite about asking to see their lanyards, remeber they have other jobs to do besides trading with you. Many are very nice and will talk to you about your pins, some however just seem to think that wearing the lanyard is another part of there job they they would prefer not to do. You've been active on the boards so i do not have to tell you about the Friday pin meet at the Contemporary. You will meet the real experts and many friendly faces there!!! Unfortunately I wasn't able to go on my last trip, I will make it a must DO next time. While in the parks it is normally safe to trade or at least admire other peoples pins whie at the various pin carts. In epcot the 2 places i found best for pins are at Pin Central ( by the dancing fountains) and the Pin cart outside the American Pavilion. In the Magic Kingdom go to Expo Hall , in MGM the wizards pin shop (under the hat) and the animation gift shop. Besides these obviious spots you can find pins basically anywhere and everywhere!!! almost every gift shop, every resort, it all depends what type of pins you are looking for. ie hunted mansion pins are mostly avialbe in the Hunted mansion gift shop. Just remeber Have Fun!!!! wish i could go back soon

Beauty -- That's the point of tracking them down. ;)
Maybe we will see each other next month! We arrive the 5th and are staying at ASMo.
Wear your green ribbon! :)
I didn't see ANY green ribbons last January. And in DL/DCA I forgot mine. (But still didn't see any others.)

We will be at the Dolphin...are you going to the COntemp meet on the 11th????

Some of the Super pin traders, even come to our meets at the Cont.. not as CM, but do their
own personal trading, they will be able to tell you the best places to go...they are great guys

And the best places to find the best pins are constantly changing, that's what makes it
so much fun.....it is always a quest....

See you on the 11th (I hope)

Although they are usually mild-mannered park employees by day, these are no average individuals. When trouble arises, Commissioner Eisner will flash (no not that kind of flash, geez!) the Pin Signal high above Spaceship Earth. This signal looks like a giant Walt Disney World Pin Trading Pin. As soon as this is seen, our crusaders slip behind the ornate shrubbery and change into their costumes revealing their true identities. With long flowing capes and multi-colored tights, these super heroes are defenders of truth, justice, and the limited editions. On their chests are the insignias proclaiming them to be Super Traders. Their logo is the back of a pin with the safety rubber back in place. These masked crusaders battle evil in their eternal fight against the mighty shark people who are bent on controlling the world. Their super powers consist of x-ray vision where they can determine the edition size of a pin by gazing through the pin to what is written on the back. They are faster than a mystery pin and able to leap tall dangles in a single bound. Although they cannot fly, I did see Super Trader Mike once get launched into the air when a rotund man plopped down on the other end of a bench catapulting Mike a distance of 147 pins stretched end-to-end. So take to the streets Junior Birdmen and search out our heroes as they attempt to keep pin trading safe from the villainous clutches of the un-nice.

Jeff,

I am ROTFLMBO!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the WONDERFUL EXPLANATION!!!

Okay guys just a few more questions,

1. Can you trade any Disney pin with Super Traders?? I'll have mostly 100 years pins to trade.

2. Can I buy Pins at the Pin meet at the Contemporary?? I don't have any traders that anyone would want...LOL! But I do have some I would love to buy.

even though I must say that I reeeaaalllyyy loved AJ Jazzy answer best..(sorry Raul)

Yes you can trade any disney pin w/ the super traders..except rubber ones..the DS store
pins are just fine..

We are not allowed to sell our pins on Disney Property, so we cannot sell our pins there, but if you see
one that you would like to trade for, you can buy a pin that that person may like from the pin
cart, and they will trade that way.. they will choose the one pin that they would like, and you can decide if you want
to do it that way..

We have a lot of brand new traders that come on a regular basis, that way they learn a lot about pins, and slowly build
up their collection.

Just come up and introduce yourselves to us, so we can introduce you around...see Kathryn, Raul, (Ed) or myself
We love to meet the Disboard people, and put a name w/ the face...we have met so many in the last few weeks
and it has been terrific..

so...hope to see you soon, and i hope this helps

Thanks Donna,

Wow what a wonderful job!! I will definatly be at the Contemp. on the 11th and I will look for you at Epcot too!! I just can't wait! I'm getting so excited!

Well since this post is about me and my partners in crime. i am of cours eone of those infamous super traders you are asking about and all i can really say is everybody who has responded has basically summed it up. we are based out of pin central and you can pretty much garentee to find one or all of us at 12,3 or 6pm for our seminars. other than that we normally can be found out in the world show case. we have a vest that has 70 pins adn we trade one pin for one pin. the pin trading rules are the same with us as it would a CM with a lanyard. we just a few more pins than they do. everybody who has been to WDW can say we are great to trade with and if you have a pin ?, we are often reffered to as the resident pin experts, but there are pins that stump us also, but we can normally find out the answer really quick and we can get back to you. myself and daren will pop up at the contemporary for the friday night pin meets and do a little trading. anyway if you have any ?'s about what i do or pins please dont hesitate to email me. i will be glad to answer any ?'s you might have. talk to you soon, ttfn.

I think it comes out of their mouths.

Last time I was there, the pin talks were held at Pin Central.

And where is that. Directions please! I know where the pin cart is. Is that Pin Central or is it at another location.

Pin Central is the main pin station located next to the information booth in Future World, between Spaceship Earth and the fountain.
