Yesterday I spoke with my 2nd grader's teacher to ask if there was a good Monday and Tuesday that I could request that he be absent. She said that he was doing great, and that it would be no problem at all to keep him out this coming Mon & Tues. It wasn't a problem for my Kindergartner, either.
So, I picked up the absentee request forms and hit them with the big question: "How would you like to go to WDW this weekend?"
I expected surprise, joy, happiness, etc. Nope. There is some kind of NASA presentation for my son's 2nd grade class on Monday. It involves turning Pringles cans and empty film containers into a telescope, and he doesn't want to miss it. I'm sure it will be interesting, but as fun as WDW??
Whaaaa! I really, really wanted to go. I'm glad that DS is so into everything about school, but good grief. I can't believe my WDW surprise was shot down by an 8 year old.
Younger DS was disappointed too, but we're going to try to sneak in a trip towards the end of May.
Are your children less interested in WDW than you are?
