Could I have asked for something more?

One time I asked if they could take my daughters' photo as an individual instead of together with the Character and you would have thought I was asking for something HUGE. The Character was nice, of course, but the Photopass person acted like I was being a pain. I asked this one time at one character because being triplets my kids always get lumped together in everything. My two girls mentioned they wished they could take a photo by themselves, so I asked at our next character greeting when they moved to snap them together with Tinker Bell for a formal pose. They did it, but it was with a sigh and attitude. I don't see why it was a big deal when I see adults with no kids taking forever snapping their shots with characters and I saw moms with itty, bitty babies that will no memory being very picky about their photo, but two 8 year old girls want an individual photo with a character instead of always having to share with their identical twin and we are holding up the line.

Can't you just imagine how much longer and more of a pain to wait in those character lines would be if every family wanted each child to have their own shot? "Ok, first little Sam with Mickey, then Sasha, and then Stevie, and then Sam and Sasha, and Sam and Stevie, then Sasha with Stevie...." the lines would be horrific!:scared:

Each family in line gets a turn with the character, and that turn is timed from what I can tell. They don't allow a set amount of minutes per child, but per family. Maybe it doesn't seem very friendly to you, but it is a way of keeping the line moving and keeping the character time fair to each family.

Eh, I've never had an issues having my kids pose seperately.

We always get more than one pic at every character, though not usually separate ones for each kid (sometimes, though). We always have the kids go first and then DH and I jump in afterwards. We've never had an issue with any photographer and we get over 200 pics done every year. You must have had a photographer that was having a bad day. Not excusing their attitude, just stating it is not the norm.

There are so many magical moments that happen when you're not expecting them. I could never leave my camera behind. Not only do I take my camera, but I take 4 extra lithium batteries, 56gb worth of camera cards and an extra charged battery for my smartphone. If something comes up, I'm prepared.

Plus, that is the point of photopass. To get your pictures without lugging around your camera. It isn't cheap for that CD or download. I purchased it to make life easier.

Photopass is there to make Disney money by providing vacation photographs at prime locations. The service won't get the candid shots of families that many of us treasure from our vacations. Like the kids with ice cream smeared faces, and the baby asleep in their stroller. Why would anyone leave a camera behind and miss those?

Exaclty! PP is a FREE service so that you can get the WHOLE family in the shot..

Seriously? Yes, so they take the photos for free and will do so for anyone; hoping those that don't know about Photopass or had no intention of using it are going to love the photos so much, they will then purchase the photos. Our school does the same thing for Spring photos. The company takes photos of all the kids, then prints these huge packages and sends them home with the kids, counting that the parents love the photos and won't have the heart to send back even one sheet with their precious pumpkin on it to be shredded. Just because they take the photo for free doesn't mean the images are free.

People that pay the money to purchase the Photpass CD or the Photopass Plus CD aren't doing it so they can get one or two really great family shots. Since Disney offers it as a pre-paid service, they know people are coming with the expectation of using Photopass photographers frequently. You don't pay for the whole CD with the intention of getting one family shot you could have paid $15 for off the Photopass.

Like I said, I know stuff happens. I would have allowed others to go ahead, but had no idea the guy was gone until my girls were already talking to Rapunzel and I was looking for him to hand him my card. I had to ask the handler where the Photopass person went because he had just been there and I never saw him leave.

No one offered to take a quick photo and send it to me and I didn't feel comfortable asking someone to do so. I was just curious if I could have even asked to wait at the exit a few minutes to see if the Photopass person was going to return quickly. Since it was outside, there was a walkway with bars off to the side to leave from and we could have easily stood way off out of the way. My guess from the responses on here, the answer would have been to throw me out of the park if I had asked such a thing.

No worries, it isn't like we didn't get over it. I have just been editing my Photopass photos and was thinking I wished I had that photo.

My kids each got their own (separate) pictures taken. Or I'm not understanding something here. It's over 100 degrees so that's entirely possible.

Never been a problem here either. Sounds like they caught a CM on bad day.

Actually, lots of people only buy one or two Photopass photos. I know plenty of people who didn't even know it could be preordered. And as far as the responses in this thread, they have actually been pretty nice. Definitely nothing as extreme as you described.:confused3

What may seem horrific to you, may be different to me. Personally, I think it is absolutely horrific for grown adults to clog up the character lines. Please, 30 year old couples are going to die if they don't have a photo with Snow White? I don't get it, but they were in front of us. Same as the lady with a baby about 2 months old and no other kids. Again, I don't get it. They had to get all these shots of Snow White cooing over this baby, who has no idea what is going on, but to each their own. They stood in line for their photos. However, if that is okay, then I think two little girls asking for one individual photo isn't too much either. I had two girls with me, not a whole preschool class.

They paid the same admission price as you did. You don't need a reason for them wanting to meet a character. It isn't your business.:confused3

Were your kids going to die if they didn't meet Rapunzel?

Since my boys weren't into it this time and my girls are now 8, I am hopeful this was our last time to ever have any kids interested in meeting characters. I will gladly never get in one of those lines again.

My 15yo Dd and 14yo Ds are looking forward to the characters as much as my 7yo Ds. :goodvibes:goodvibes

I'm starting to lose sympathy for your plight.

Thank you. I'm a young adult, no kids, and I love having my picture taken with characters. I don't do it to be obnoxious to the families with kids. I did it because I paid a decent amount of money to get in and when I get the chance to do things I want to do, I will do them.

OK, sorry, but now you're just getting offensive. It is none of your business who wants to get character pictures and why. They've all paid to enter the park, the same as you have. And several posters have told you that they have never had any problem with multiple kids getting individual shots. I'm sorry if you ran into a cast member on a bad day, but that is no reason whatsoever to start disparaging other guests for enjoying the park exactly like you want your family to do.

I'm not looking for sympathy. I said they had every right to be there and get their photos. They stood in line. I just said I didn't get it. I would never be in one of those lines if I didn't have kids wanting to see characters. I admittedly don't understand those who are willing to wait in those long lines for them. I'm not saying it is wrong, I am saying I don't understand the willingness to do so. If I had known those adults that wanted to stand in line, I would have dropped my girls off with them so they could wait together and I could have been anyplace else.:rotfl2:

... my SIL and I were eagerly awaiting the chance to meet Dug from UP. The Photopass photographer was having issues with their camera, when I went back through the line with DD, so I snapped a few myself -- *shrugs* just one of those things and not worth losing sleep over.

That said, I have taken a few photos of random things for other people on various vacations and emailed them. Heck, back when disposable cameras were still plentiful, we gave a mother/son our extra one on the Segway Tour when the realized they lost theirs. I'd rather help someone treasure a memory than sit by idly.

Man alive. I hope you don't have to see this 40 year old couple getting pictures.

Perhaps if folks focused on their own business, like remembering a personal camera, and focused less on folks like me, we wouldn't have so many problems.

I was truly sympathetic to your plight until this.

You know, my daughter-in-law, 24, was killed in a bike accident in May. I have a son show is now a 25 year old widower with a 6 year old daughter. How I wish we had gone to WDW before this happened so Sasha could have had her picture taken with Alice. Alice was her favorite. For all you know, that infant may have an illness, a parent may have an illness, and this may be the only picture they get.
