Could I buy a pkg w/dining and MYW, and

upgrade the MYW tickets to APs upon arrival? I would love to try the dining pkg, but using APs would cover us for 2 trips (within a 365 day period). Our trips are normally about 10 nights each, so I think it would more cost beneficial to use APs. I'm thinking if I booked the pkg and then upgraded to APs, I still wouldn't be able to take advantage of any AP resort discounts, even if they were still available upon arrival. Has anyone compared the costs of spreading APs over two trips (one in Oct, and then one the following Sept, maybe) for 10 days each, to getting a pkg with MYW? There will be 3 or 4 of us, consisting of 2 adults, a 2 yo (will be three at trip time), and possibly a 12 yo. Would it be cheaper to try for a resort discount with the AP, and pay for our meals ourselves? DD12 will be an adult both under the meal plan and if we pay outright. We usually don't do a sit down each day, but have done our share of character meals, so this certainly wouldn't go to waste.
