Could DVC do this?

OMG after these last couple replies all I can say is: I love my DVC!!!
We all do, but the point of my post above was just to demonstrate that complexity can sometimes be your friend...if you know your timeshare system.

While I had to jump through some hoops, I actually had options at three Wyndham resorts within a reasonable distance of where we were going (Sedona, Flagstaff, and Bison Ranch), and even a fourth at Pinetop, which is a little further away but doable. So although the system is somewhat more complicated, 4 of the 5 Wyndham resorts in AZ could have bailed me out.

And...I was able to make the adjustment I needed to make just THREE WEEKS OUT from our arrival date.

I don't think there is one "perfect" timeshare system. All have their pluses, and all have their limitations. Unfortunately, often the biggest limitation is our own lack of understanding of how our system works.

I've been a member since 1999 and have never had a problem. I've worked with the system. The only time I had to ask a favor was when my mom died on 9/30/05 and I decided to cancel a late November trip we had planned together. I was a few days past my banking deadline (9/30) when I called and they let me bank the points. They would not put back the borrowed points I had n the reservation, I ended up using them for a reservation that was an extension of a business trip.

I think the banking/borrowing rules are actually good for the membership. If you could put them back to their original year, I could see people taking up multiple dates while they decided which one they really wanted. Meanwhile others can't get a reservation they want.
