Cough from cold isn't enough to keep us off the ship is it?

having a slight "what if" panic attack here... my daughter and I are at the tail end of a cold and we both have a lingering cough.

This isn't enough for DCL to keep us from boarding is it? We leave Monday.

No, the form asks if anyone has had a fever AND sore throat, cough, runny nose, muscle aches, and headache. Just having a lingering cough from a cold isn't enough to deny boarding. The other questions are about vomiting and diarrhea, and if you've been to any of the countries with Ebola outbreaks.

I'm pretty sure any vomiting or diarrhea is a guarantee you won't be allowed to board. If you answer yes to the question regarding "fever AND ...", I've heard they have someone from the medical staff come evaluate you and they have the final say as to whether you board or not.

I'm not saying it's right, but no one (except maybe @hcox31 ) is going to disclose the vomiting/diarrhea if they think doing so will bar them from boarding and ruin their vacation. I know it's CYA for DCL to ask the questions, but still, it seems like a bit of a charade.

They don't let you bored sometimes. They have the doctor evaluate you in the terminal and they decide if you board or not. This can be for anything considered contagious and not even on the form if they think you are sick in the terminal.

Yep haha. I think it is more for people coughing and sneezing or visibly ill. I remember there being a trip report on here that was about how even with a note from an urgent care pediatrician the family was denied boarding because their kid threw up in the terminal.

Oh, and pink-eye, too. Keep both your jaw and sphincter clenched, and make sure you wear sunglasses in the terminal.

We are a kid hurl into a garbage can as he went through security and didn't see him hustled out.

My 2.5-y.o puked in Cabanas as we ate our embarkation lunch. He wasn't symptomatic of anything before we boarded, and it was our first cruise, so we preliminarily just chalked it up to the excitement of the day.

We cleaned up most of it, and a CM offered to finish cleaning for us (yes, we tipped him well). Not a peep about taking our son to medical services.
