Couches for Sitting? Which ones don't stink?

Please help! My husband and I went through all the DVC resorts last night trying to figure out where we wanted to stay next trip. One of our final deciding factors was whether or not the couch was comfortable to sit on (we don't care about sleeping on it). We just got back from SSR, and the couch situation was just horrendous. The back cushions would get all smooched down, and it was just really uncomfortable. So have you guys noticed if any of the couches are better than others for sitting on? I'm particularly trying to avoid the back cushions getting all smooched out of shape.

So where's the best couch?

Alternatively, which resorts have the same crummy SSR type couches?

They all work well for a few months and then repeated use of the pull couch and then they don't. I always use the pillows trying to offset the problems with the couch.

None are great, but we nominated BLT for the worst. It was so bad, that all of us were just sitting on the floor. We hated it.

Completely agree!! When we stayed in a 1BR at BLT, DH and I both agreed that the couch was as hard as a wooden bench. Whenever we were in the room, he took the brown chair and I sat at the kitchen table. The couch was unusable.

As to which resorts have comfortable couches, we haven't found one yet that does. Other than BLT, the others are tolerable at best, and only if you do as Denise suggests and use the throw pillows.

I think the ones where the seat cushion pulls up into a U are the worse. I remember BWV had one like that and another one did. We usually stay in studios at BLT and I haven't noticed the hard couch, and I would anymore.

Maybe it's just that my two most recent stays were in newly refurbished rooms at BWV and BCV, but I thought their couches were quite comfortable.

IMO the couch is not that bad to open and sleep on but to sit on they suck. The couch pillows you sit on were connected to the bar in the back so the wouldn't fall forward. Guests like to disconnect the pillows and use them to sleep on the floor if needed and are never hooked back up. If you look the seat pillows have a lip on the front edge ( unless something has change recently) and if not connected in back they have a tendency to slip off the front on the couch when you sit down so now your sitting at an angle. I know at BWV we have this problem all the time.

The VGF have sofas like you would find in someone's house, decent. But you are paying for them!

VGF was actually our second choice resort, behind Beach Club, but this sofa news may bump it up to number 1!! We will be doing a lot of couch sitting as we will be traveling with my MIL, and won't be on the go all day.

I've found the fabric on most of the sleeper sofas to be scratchy and the seats to be shallow. I hate loose pillows on a sofa because they take up so much room. I just want an upholstered back, no pillows. At BLT, I thought the side chair (was it brown, wood with a big pillow) to be the most uncomfortable thing to sit on. Only the sleeper chairs tended to be somewhat comfortable.

I could just sit and look at the new BWV couch and the cushions would slide out.

PVB, not so bad but I'd have to push them back in a little every day. I did not find them terrible to sit on though.
