Costco membership increase

Yup, they announced that last week.

I hope Sam's Club doesn't follow.
I think they have the lowest fee of the big 3. Hoping it doesn't go up either! I have never been into a Costco come to think of it. All three are in a 2 mile radius where I live.

I'll give Costco some credit as it is the first time they've raised membership fees since 2011. And they do have a policy that if at any point you are unsatisfied you can get your membership refunded. You could go talk to customer service on day 364 of your membership period and get a full refund.

Ours went up $5...I am kind of surprised that it was even announced. $5 is nothing...save way more than that in just one shopping trip. They could have raised it $40 and I would still find it worthwhile..

I have such a love/hate relationship with Costco but a $5 increase isn't going to deter me.

I go several times a week for their rotisserie chicken. So much bigger and cheaper than what they sell at the grocery store. Plus I get my dogs' prescriptions filled at Costco. Add the cash back on cruises and great rates on travel insurance and rental cars and it's a super deal for me. Plus they are selling solid colored Toms on their website for $30!

This doesn't bother me at all. I save more than $10 when I buy just one bag of dog food. They could double the price and I would still get the membership. I save so much by shopping there.

The dog food was what made me decide to purchase a membership. Our dog with food allergies needs to avoid grain and chicken products. Our savings by buying the Costco grain free dog food vs the previous brand we were using was way more than the cost of the membership.

Have you looked at chewy.com for dog food? I'm saving a lot of money getting all my dog supplies at chewy.
Great company free delivery if you spend over 49 dollars. Comes in a few days.
Thou 10 dollars is a good savings

A bag of grain free that is half the size of the Kirkland brand at my local farm store costs the same as what I pay at Costco. It's a no brainer to me! :teeth:

I know many people who use Chewy, but Costco is cheaper. Chewy's least expensive grain free beef is $42 for a 28lb bag. (Same one they sell at Tractor Supply) Costco is $29 for a 35lb bag. And in January, they had a sale that was $10 off each bag. So it was only $19 per bag.

While I never enjoy cost increases, I have been a happy member at Costco for many years. The increase will not influence me. I save a lot in gas, their meat is very good, and their overall prices are good. The stores are always well maintained and the return policy is generous. I have noticed some decreases in quality over the last couple of years. The Kirkland brand sheets used to be fabulous, but not so much now. They used to have a wide selection of Kirkland men's dress shirts in regular cut. Now they seem to have only a few choices and most of them are in a tailored cut that doesn't work well for me. I get the executive membership and always get my full membership price back despite the fact that I am a one person household.

I save on my contacts and really like the eye Dr in my Costco. I get their gas if I don't have fuel points to use. And get my pictures done there most of the time. We don't buy much food there because it's just 2 of us. I do get the squirrels peanuts there ☺
