Costco Has 4 Day Park Hoppers For $259.99

Sorry if this has already been discussed, I couldn't find it in the thread.
Does anyone know/care to guess if this will be a better deal than the off-season tickets Disney usually offers? We go Jan or Feb, and the tickets have always been discounted that time of year.

Buying from Costco is a safe thing to do.
If tickets go on sale for a better price then return tickets to Costco.

Then you can buy at the reduced off-season price.
It means a little foot work.
If the difference is enough, it might be worth the effort.

Good luck

I will be very surprised if Disney offers any special deals this year. With crowds flocking to the parks because of Carsland, there is simply no need for them to do so.

Now Sandy is affecting my plans. We bought our tickets through Costco, and now my husband may be called to the East Coast to help with storm recovery (he works for an electrical utility company). Wondering if Costco will credit/refund our tickets since we won't be able to go until next summer, and the tickets are only good until February.

You can return the unused tickets, with cash card, to Costco.

Ugh. :(
That doesn't make me want to go. Not a fan of huge crowds at DL. That's why we favor Jan/Feb.

I wonder about those that used the cash cards to purchase more tickets? Has anyone asked about return options without the cash card?

We bought our tickets Sunday. It was the MOST money we've ever spent at Costco. LOL But it is so worth it.

I like that we all have different passes (aside from the two buzz passes). But, I was wondering if it would affect the pass or if it's allowed to laminate them so that they are more sturdy. Anyone know?

if you laminate will the magnetic strip still be readable by turnstiles and FP machines?
Or will they be too thick to work in either machine?:confused3

Good point on the magnetic strip!

Thickness of ticket and lamination product might be a problem if it makes it thicker than one of the plastic card tickets.

I'd be more worried about the bar code and/or magnetic strip.

Remember there are always plastic zip-loc bags to keep things dry.

Has anyone upgraded the tickets? What is the amount of credit you received toward your pass?

Yep. If you are interested in a 5-day PH pass, ignore all 4-day PH tickets unless they are more than $125 less than the 5 day price ($290).

I don't understand this. If they make you pay the difference between what you paid ($260 in the case of the Costco ticket) and the price of the ticket you are upgrading to ($290), you are only paying an additional $30 to upgrade. So, in the end you are paying $290 total after upgrading to the 5 day ticket. But that doesn't count the $50 gift card so it really only costs you $240 to end up with a 5 day ticket...or am I missing something?

Plus, in your example, if you found a 4 day pass for $125 less than the 5 day price, wouldn't they just charge you $125 to upgrade?

these Costc tickets they are the same as the DL tickets correct? Same MM and same perks if staying on site? Never purchased tickets anywhere besides AAA and DL and makes me nervous??

I don't think there is an "always" anymore with the "new" DCA and Carlsand. If you are a CostCo shopper, the CostCo tickets are effectively $50 off. I would be astonished if Disney offered anything better in early 2013 regardless of what they have done in the past. They don't even currently offer an advance purchase internet discount like they had done pre-Carsland.

Bought ours today! I bought the first 3 tickets and got the $150 in Costco cards, then went back thru the line and used them toward my last card. :)

south sac Costco says only 2 days left to buy the DL tickets. if you want to buy these better check your store ASAP as they may be ending.

Yikes! I'm on my way out the door for the day, and can't call Costco. Anyone else have the time to verify this?

I called my local Costco and they said they didn't know how long they would be around but he thought it would last "through the holidays".

I called and talked with a Costco Rep in Wilsonville, OR. They didn't have any indication of a pull date for these. They did say the tickets were not on re-order. The Costco Rep was kind enough to give me a few locations with numbers.
