I booked a minivan through Costco for our August DW trip. I wasn’t overly happy with the price, but as suggested by posters on this site, kept checking the price every day. It went down $62 today and I canceled and rebooked. I’ll continue to monitor the price.

Thank you to the nice people who keep sharing tips here.

I've used costco car rentals many times, just keep checking ALL sites as we ended up booking through budget for our april trip because they were 75. cheaper than costco.

Where
Do you pick up your rental?
Orlando Airport. If it were just DH and I, I might try an off-site rental with a shuttle because they seem to be significantly less expensive. However, traveling with four adults, two kids, lots of luggage, car seat, etc., we need to keep things as easy and simple as possible.

You definitely should check often. Many times the best rate isn't found until 2 or 3 weeks before the trip, and I've seen rate drops even 2 or 3 days prior. Not sure you need to be checking daily yet, but when you get inside that last month, its definitely a good idea. Just stay away from prepaid rates...

There is likely an August 2019 rental thread on the Transportation board. It would be good to put a watch on that thread, as others will post their rate drops, codes, etc., Costco or not.

If Budget is showing you the best rate with Costco and you NEED to book it, go through the Budget website using the Costco discount code and if you pay in full you get an extra % off. Sometimes you can even go through a cashback portal to the Budget site, use the Costco code and pre-pay for the best overall savings. Food for thought.

That's true...BUT, prepaying locks you in at Budget. Yes, you can rebook it if the rate at Budget goes down and I think they refund the difference after the rental is completed...but, if you find a better rate at another agency (Alamo, etc.), it'll cost you $50. I don't advise using prepays unless its very close to rental time...certainly not 5 months in advance.
