Hi,

I was just wondering how much the average cost of a Disney Vacation. I have read people spending around 10K and we spent about 4K on our last one. We had a deal for Canadians, but just wondering what it would cost without a Canadian Deal.
Thanks! :sunny:

Probably exactly what it would cost to fix an '82. SORRY :rotfl: I could not resist. I have price 7 days at disney ASMo with MYW passes with non exp and flight on Spirit Air from detroit for about $3000 CDN. However it could be more if my Aunt doesn't get the darn income tax done. :hourglass We could be going in May'06 with you. Call me later tonight or tommorrow afternoon, I'm on nights tonight. :earboy2: Kat

We came back from staying at Coronado Springs ( a moderate resort ), just the 2 of us and we paid about $5700.00 cdn at peak season, Dec.23rd 2004 to Jan 2nd 2005 for 10 days. I hope this gives you an idea on the cost.

P.S. We are going again same time, same place, 2006

We drive :moped: from Atlantic Canada, spend 7-8 days at a moderate, and another week at a condo.

Invariably, our trips cost about $6500-$7000 - and that doesn't include very much in the way of shopping. As well, we usually only have 3-4 PS's, with the majority of our onsite meals either at our resort, or counter service in the parks (and at the condo, we prepare most of our own meals).

About $5000.00 for two , more if we stay more than a week. This time we are using 5 days of DVC points. We fly so the darn tax on the tickets is huge.

For 2 of us, we spent about $4,000 US for 10 days at Christmas last year and just under $1,000 US for a quick trip for 5 days in May. Transportation, meals, onsite stay and tickets.

Our most expensive trip pre DVC was 13k for 3 weeks at 3 different resorts and our cheapest one was 2 weeks for under 3800K. These are driving trips and that alone saves you quite a bit of money IMHO.

We just got back last week, and here is the basic breakdown....

1200 airfare for four from maine...
500 for rental car, and hotels in maine...
1000 for tickets
4000 for hotel, meals and shopping (one week)

now...this was not a budget trip.....we ate at a sit down everyday (100 a pop!), one counter service, and bought whatever shirts...toys...pictures we wanted. We also stayed at the AKL..which is a deluxe.

we plan on going next year and staying longer in a moderate, and not spending quite so much. (no rental car or hotel stays, and less shopping!)

I hope to do next years vacation for under 5000.

Hope this helps!

We usually go for 9 nights and have been anywhere from $5000 - 8000 CDN

However, this time since I think we have every trinket going we are hoping to do it for under $4500.

DVC has been a budget lovers dream. Before DVC and the Disboards we spent around $3k for a week at the Wilderness Lodge + Airfare + food + hoppers (ouch).. so probably around $5-6,000 all together.

Our last trip, if you don't include our DVC payment, came out to be about $700 for the week, including airfare (Avion points, $200 in fees), hoppers (lots of single day leftovers, so $0), car rental (they forgot to charge me, $0) and food (1 grocery stop, $200, with lots of preparing food in the villa but some thrifty eating).
The joys of DVC!

We drove from PEI and spent $8000. That included 2 weeks offsite, rental car, 3 hotels down, 2 back, lots of shopping. Hopefully we will be doing it again in December with 3 weeks in Florida.

We stayed 6 nights POP, 2 nights Daytona, 3 nights Orlando, 4 motels enroute. 2 adults, 2 kids. Very budgeted trip - 1 sit down meal at MK (character breakfast). $55/night at POP. VERY little shopping. 5 day park passes (no hopping), tickets to Bud Shootout, 1 day at SeaWorld and 1 day at SilverSprings. $6,000 - 7,000.

My average budget for the last 3 trips to Disney for 3 people has been about $3,600. That is about $1,200 per person. I book room only reservations. Pay about $250 per person airlines. Have stayed 5 days deluxe in 2003.. 5 days moderate., in 2004. My upcoming trip is split 4 days moderate and 3 days deluxe. This trip is cheaper ticket wise. I bring my own spending money. My other two travelers do the same. I pay the basics and they bring their own spending money. My budget this trip is about $750 airfare. $750 tickets $1,600 room (AAAdiscount) I carry about $500 cash. My priority seatings are of course extra. I quess you could add about $500 to the total so it would actually be about $4,000. This trip will be 8 days, my other trips were shorter. I don't think it is too bad, it's a Disney vacation after all. Doing special things makes it all more special. I ramble, sorry.

MikeyNS isn't it great owning DVC we always make our lunches to take to the parks with us and we make our breakfast in the room so that cuts down the cost of meals quite a bit. We spend about 5-700 a trip now and that is it and that is for 2 weeks.

Hubby and I went down in Feb for 6 nights/7 days, and spent a grand total of $3000 which included: airfare, tickets, hotel, food, car rental (1 day), souveniers & a kennel for the puppies while we were away.

We stayed at a POFQ (moderate resort), King room, and got the Canada @ Par deal. We aren't big shoppers, so we only bought one or two things to bring back, and only had one PS, though we did do a couple other nice meals.

We also spent one day at Kennedy Space Centre.

Our last trip was in 2000 and six of us went. We spent about 8000 Canadian for 2 wks. I am in the middle of planning out next trip for the end of August this year and it looks like we will be able to do it for about 6000 Canadian. We are going to try to rent DVC points for our hotel and we are planning to spend 9 days. Hope this helps. :sunny:

We got back from a Disney Cruise and with exchange and everything else you are talking $10,000.00 Canadian. We had an amazing time so it was worth every penny!

If you have a frequent traveler in the house, it's possible to do Disney incredibly cheap (even for a family of four)...check this out...

a) Airfare $100/person (JFK to Orlando on JetBlue)
b) Hotel - 7 nights at Grand Cypress Hyatt Resort ($0 - use Hyatt points)
...by the way...the Park Hyatt Toronto may very well be Canada's best overall hotel imho!!
c) Breakfast & Evening Appetizers - $0 (Hyatt's Regency Club access provides for these!)
d) Hertz Rental - one week - $0 (use Hertz points)
e) Disney Tix - unlimited ($0) via annual pass purchase (beyond 8th day, all additional days could be considered "no charge") -of course, one must shell out $400/pass/person up-front.

The only thing left to spend money on is lunch & dinner (Bahama Breeze, anyone??) and gifts!

Note that the airfare out of the NYC area to Orlando is generally too low to warrant using frequent flyer miles (and driving would never be an option!)

...have a nice Easter weekend!

DH and went in Feb. at the end of value season, we stayed at ASmusic. We spent total with spending $$ a little under 3000 cnd. We flew Air Transat.
