Cost of Cash Ressie

Being that we have not even been home again, I have not considered many ways of saving points, rather than avoiding weekend nights.

When do cash ressies come available for a typical resort, and what is the typical cost per night per unit? Did I read that it is 25% off the rack rate for the given season for resort for the proper size unit?

Yes, the cash discount for members is 25% and it's off the rack rate.

Availability of the cash discount varies - it really just depends on whether or not MS/DVC thinks all of the rooms in the point inventory will be reserved for points.

I've never been able to secure a member discount - guess I like to go at popular times, LOL.

Maybe someone else can help more with the "when do they become available" question. My impression is that most member discounts appear 60 days or less from arrival. I know some have reported getting them farther ahead, though.
