We will be spending one night at Coronado Springs in January in a Standard room. We have never stayed there before. Does anyone have any suggestions on room requests we should make. It being only one night isn't too big of a deal but we still want a decent location and have no idea what to ask for. TIA

We’ve stayed several times in Cabanas and Ranchos. Both are on the same side of the lake as Dig Site the main pool- one of our favorites in The World - if that interests you. Ranchos is a little more set back than Cabanas and some will say a little quieter but we didn’t notice much difference. Both themes are lovely. Cabanas 8A and Ranchos 8B are closest to the pool. Some rooms in Ranchos 8B overlook the quiet pool. It’s a lovely resort overall so you really can’t go wrong - it just depends on what you consider to be a good location.

Thank you. Oh yeah I guess I should have specified what is a good location to us. I think we just don't want to be too far away from the main building or bus stop maybe. Having never been there I'm not sure how things are spread out. What are the differences between the Cabanas and Ranchos?

The standard rooms at Coronado are all pretty identical, just the outside theming varies by area. They have three bus stops (four counting the tower) so you’ll really always be near a bus. The buses take about 10 minutes to go from the first stop to the last stop at the resort, this could be really different of course if social distancing measures are still in place.

Personally, for one night I don’t think it will make a huge difference where you end up. I usually opt for the “top floor” drop down to avoid stampedes above me at night, but noisy neighbors are just luck of the draw. Ranchos is the furthest from the main building but for just one night it’s not a big deal, with the new bridges across the water you can cross the entire resort in under ten minutes easily. I’ve stayed in cabanas 8B and ranchos 6A and both were a comparable distance (5-6 min walk) from the QS in El Centro, and close to a bus and the dig site pool.

Has anyone had a recent CSR stay? We have a trip coming up in a few weeks.
Can someone share their experiences with food and buses? Thank you

I’d take some time to read back over the last 10-20 or so pages of the main Coronado Springs FAQ thread: https://www.disboards.com/threads/disneys-coronado-springs-resort-information-questions.3270962/

It’s been quite active lately with lots of recent trip report posts.

We were at GDT Thanksgiving week. Transportation was normal/uneventful in our travels (note, we did mix with driving at times) and we had great meal experiences at Dahlia Lounge, Three Bridges, and Siestas. Many comment that the lack of a quick service is a negative (since El Mercado is still closed), but we didn’t miss it at all.
