Coronado Springs

Just back from a 6 day stay at CSR.

Pool was great, although with the cool temps is was really only good to be swimming in the afternoon. Pool is not crowded this time of year at all.

Pepper Market and Maya Grill were both wonderful. I think the Pepper Market is the best counter service value with the dining plan and we took advantage of that. The Maya Grill was truly awesome.

We stayed in Cabana 8a. It is very close to bus stop 4 which was good for our family. We had very good bus service during our stay.
The resort was almost too big for us though. It was a "hike" if you wanted to do more than just stroll over to the lobby, which I needed to do more than once.

We checked in early, and since our room was not ready we went to MK for the day. Upon return only 2 of our 5 bags were in the room. It took a call to the bell staff, 3 hours, another call, and then for me to stand in the luggage room for 30 minutes to get anyone to find our 3 missing bags. That was very disappointing. I did take it up with management immediately but still it left a very sour taste.

CSR is a good resort, just depends on what your family is looking for and your needs during your stay.
Welcome back and thanks for sharing!!

We'll be checking in at CSR TOMORROW night!!! Can't believe its finally almost here! We stayed at CSR not long after it opened, and had a great stay! We're really excited to be back at CSR - and DD can't wait to try out that slide! I've requested a room in the Casitas area. Can't wait!!!!

Just wanted to post a follow up...

Thanks to all for the info on CSR - it was a great place to stay (even though we didn't spend much time hanging out at the resort) It was a nice place to come back to - great service, AC, bus schedule, pools...definitely would recommend also.

My daughter had a blast - when booking all the table service meals (with 1 agent), we got talking about the special leap year bday and you guys were right - they definitely made the effort to make the little one feel special. She loved the meals @ Cinderella's Castle and Chef Mickey's the best - signed cards, extra time with the characters, signed place mats, disney pins

FYI, I booked meals late December and didn't have a problem getting reservations. We left our last day open and let the little one decide what parks we were going to hop to...so the night before I booked the Princess Character Restaurant at Epcot (in Norway). What a gem - for those who have probs getting a reservation at the Castle, this is a good 2nd choice for "Princess Dining".

Oh...and the Dining Plan - I think this thing was great for us...it was nice to be able to know that "most" of the meals were already paid for. Table Services, just needed to pay for any "drinks" and the tip...

And the Magical Disney Express - used the baggage service on arrival - really gets you into the vacation mood when you don't have to look for your luggage and it "magically" appears in your hotel room.

I think next time we do this, 7 days on the resort is not required - we are already thinking of the 3 day land, and 4 day boat packages Disney has.

Thanks again to all - definitely made this trip easy to plan.

Cheers.

i'm glad to hear so many good things about CSR! we want to stay there on our Jan. 09 vacation. i'm a little concerned about the layout of the property. what are some close bldg. to request that is close to the food court? how many bus depots do they have around the property?

I have reservations for Easter week. I've never stayed at this resort before, but have heard relatively good things. It sounds like a really large resort, I was wondering if anyone could recommend the best area of the resort to request to be so I can be close to the best bus stop, and maybe food and the health club(which I had no idea about and am thrilled to know they have one!)? Thanks!

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool and is also a smoking optional building.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Make your room request as soon as you make your reservation. It’s never too early.

Take the 9B, that's where we were and thought it was great. It is quick to food and busses, and a little longer of a stroll to the dig site. We did most of our swimming at night, so the walk back from the dig site was awesome as the resort is lit up beautifully. The only thing we didn't like is how they added 10% to every purhcase at the food court. Even if you just got a piece of cake. Oh and make sure that even the adults in your party go down the slide at least once! It is AWESOME!

That said, the Port Orleans FQ is still our favorite resort... even over the deluxes we've stayed at. To each his own though.

We've stayed at both POR & CSR & have enjoyed both. Both have different themes & different things to offer. If you've never stayed there, I'd give it a try.

The main pool is huge with tons of room to spread out so you're not on top of your neighbor.

We enjoyed CSR.

It's a great place - I'm heading there in March for my 3rd stay at CSR. I love the whole thing, even the walking as everything is so beautiful.

As far as location, we had Ranchos 7B and I must say that location was perfect. So close to the main pool and we had a quiet pool and laundry room right outside our door. The bus stop was also close by. It was bit further to the main area but that wasn't a big deal, the walk was lovely, a bellman in a golf cart appeared and gave my elderly aunt a lift (couldnt' fit the rest of us but we wanted to walk anyway) and I would rather be close to the main pool that anything else. So if the pool location is your thing, I would highly recommend that location.

CSR is a wonderful resort! I still remember walking around that resort for an early morning walk one morning and it was gorgeous. I loved it that I could see the top if Expedition Everest which made me feel very connected to the parks. Its a great location within the WDW complex.

WHERE DID YOU STAY AT CSR??

:surfweb:

Well thanks to Buzz and all the other posters this has made my mind up. We were having to move from the Lodge to a moderate due to the house market (DH is a General Contractor). We didn't want to loose our one and only vacation and still have a decent time. This place looks awesome!

Question the Disney description does not say they have refridgerator in all rooms. But Buzz shows one and says they are standard. Just want to confirm this if possiable.
