Please help! I have ressies at Coronado Springs for my 40th Birthday. I really wanted to stay at Caribbean Beach, but it is full for that weekend. Which one is better? Should I continue to try and switch to Caribbean Beach?

Pam

I have stayed at both of those resorts twice and I like them both very much with Coronado just barely edging out Caribbean. They are very similar in a general way as they are both layed out around a lake. Both have a somewhat exotic feel and both have different sections of buildings with different architecture though Coronado's is much different from section to section. A Caribbean it is a little less so. Caribbean Beach is much more colorful, the rooms are a bit bigger (as is the lake) and the new rooms decore looks nice. At Coronado the colors are a bit more subdued except the interior of the Casitas and the Cabanas where the fabrics and paints are quite bright. The Ranchos are a little more quiet, visually.
You will have a great time at either. If you really want to swithc, go ahead and keep trying but, unless you don't like south western art or architecture, you will most likely enjoy Coronado Springs.

daannzzz,

Thanks so much for the information. What is it exactly that you like better about Coronado Springs? Also, what about the pools? We will have 2 children with us. Which pool is better?

I have stayed at both and I like the Coronado much better. The biggest reason is probably the pool. It is extremely large and my kids absolutely love the slide. I also prefer the food at Coronado, although it is a little more expensive than the counter service options at Caribbean.

If you stay at Coronado, you will be completely spolied as far as a moderate resort goes! Because it is a convention resort, it has many amenities you would expect to find only in a deluxe resort.
It is situated around a lake and has three different themed sections. Each section has its own quiet pool, laundry facilities and bus stop. The food court is more upscale (no paper products here!) and the Maya Grill has an excellent breakfast buffet!

The main pool area has it all!!! A slide that is not only long, but has a few twists, a huge hot tub, kiddie pool, playground, arcade, hairwrapping, and a pool bar with lunch items (you can use your mugs here). Wait until you see this place at night! Take a walk around the lake and then hang out in a hammock! If you prefer a "tropical" theme, just request Cabanas (it reminded me very much of CBR).

CBR is a lovely resort , as well. Since you have CSR, I would keep it and not worry another minute. Stay at CBR next time!

While I like the architecture of Caribbean beach resort ( Jamaica in particular) I really like that the three sections of Coronado Springs are very different from each other making it like 3 resorts in one. I like the decore in the rooms better (even if it is a bit bright in some instances). The main pool is much more impressive looking at Coronado Springs though the Caribbean beach main pool is fun too, just not as spectacular. I like the variety of foods at the food court at Coronado better too.
The kids will have much fun at either one. :)

We have stayed at both and prefer CBR. I think CSR is too spread out. When we went to CSR they put far away from the food court. Too much walking for me. They put us closer to the food court and then it was a walk to the pool. CSR was nice to take a walk around the lake but I can do that at CBR also.

I don't like the Pepper Market. I have to attend a convention there in June but if it was my money I would be staying at CBR.

CSR is beautiful but I like the fact that the main pool is close to the food court at CBR. We also love the landscaping and theming of CBR.

I don't think you can go wrong at either. Why not try one this trip and the other the next?

We LOVE CSR. I have stayed at CBR 2 times and CSR 2 times. CSR wins hands down! The pool/hot tub area is great, bus service is fantastic, there is a small spa, there is a larger room service menu and the Pepper Market is awsome.
