What is the difference at Coronado springs of the standard rooms versus water view and preferred rooms? My travel agent has us down for water view, which is $100 more, so I need to know if it is worth it. It would be nice to be close to restaurants or bus stops (maybe a pool if there is not too much noise). We'll have a 1 year old and 3 year old if you think that makes any difference. Thanks!

As far as I know, there are no "preferred" rooms at the CSR and we will be staying for the 7th time. A water view room could give you a view of the lake, the quiet pool, one of the fountains in the Casitas section, etc. The closest section to the main buidling is Cabanas or Casitas 1 (if you look for Buzz's website on the Coronado he gives more specifics. We always stay in Casitas 5 and it is a five minute walk to the main building and a seven minute walk to the main pool; however, it is a one minute walk to the quiet pool.

waterview is not worth it at any of the mods or values because there are no balconies. go with the standard view if possible.

Switch to a standard view. I love staying at the mods, but I would never pay for an upgraded view. With the exterior corridors, most people keep their windows closed anyway. Sometimes the Disney reservaton system will automatically put you in an upgraded view, hoping you won't notice.

My travel agent says getting a waterview room is our best chance at getting casitas. Is that true?
Here is what she says: "The waterview rooms are better rooms and I am pretty sure that is the better way to try and get the casitas..Standard views also may be only parking lot view or something. I would encourage you to keep the waterview."

I paid for a water view room and got placed all the way out in the Ranchos section of the resort!!! My "water view" was of the quiet pool. Switch to standard, save the money!!

There is also an upcharge for the king size room, which is what I have reserved in Nov. I'm hoping for Cabana 9B. I wonder if I have any chance of it? My only hope that with my disability they will understand and I will be place there since walking is sometimes difficult for me. A hot tub can provide relief, but I also need to be close to the food court.

We had a view of the parking lot but because of the lush landscaping, even that was beautiful!:) I wouldn't pay for a water view.

We just got back from CSR and had requested just a standard room, but received a nice waterview room in Casitas 3. We have a 1 year old and 4 year old. I would NOT pay for a waterview room. Since there is no balcony, your only view of the water is out the window, and how often do you really sit and look out your hotel window? With 2 little ones running around- not often. I would instead request a room close to the bus stop or the main pool (if you will use it). We were far from both and it was a pain. We did not end up going to the pool except the first day just to walk around, and the bus stop was a fairly long walk especially with a sleepy 1 year old at night! I would have liked Casitas 1 to be close to the main building and 1st bus stop, cabana 9 to be close to the pool, or casitas 5 to be close the the bus stop. Don't get me wrong, our room location was nice on the water, but no way would I pay for it. With a balcony yes, but without- no!
