By the bypass trick I just meant bypassing the room sensor with the thermostat so you don't wake up in the middle of the night sweating. We forgot one night and the room got very warm. Keeping the AC on all night really helped us sleep better.

Thanks! The chicken comment I made to Aubriee was actually meant to your review about the raw chicken. We had that happen once. It was disgusting!! But all other times we ate at the PM the food was great!

Thanks for explaining the bypass trick. I probably bypassed reading that because I live in FL and keep my house set at 80 in the summer. We froze at night with it set at 76. Had to use blankets we bring extra ones from home, lol. Didn't want to use the heat.

Getting excited. We arrive at CSR in 17 days. Has anyone else gotten really nervous at this point in the countdown and second guessed themselves about their choice of resort? I'm not looking for perfection, but I really do want this trip to turn out well. DH is not the Disney fanatic that I am and if he's not happy, then I am not going to be happy. His first choice for resort was Animal Kingdom Lodge, but I just couldn't bring myself to pay those prices for a room that basically all we are doing is sleeping and getting ready to leave for the parks. The difference in the price between CSR and AKL is enough to pay for the cruise I want to take next year.

Dh and I are heading to CSR Saturday for eight nights. It will be our third stay at this resort. I am so excited. I saw on facebook that Rix lounge has a Prohibition Party planned for saturday night. I'm hoping to make it. Has anyone been to the lounge? We are usually so tired from the parks, I can't stay awake for a night out.

Yes, it has happened before and is currently happening. We are leaving tonight for a one night stay at a LaQuinta before moving to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for two nights and then Old Key West for four nights. I LOVE the CSR and I am really worried I'm not going to be happy. But I've seen lots of great pictures and have been reading reviews, and it all sounds lovely so I'm sure we'll be fine.

My DH and I have celebrated our 50th birthday (both of us) and our 25th anniversary at CSR and it couldn't have been more special. Be sure you let them know you are celebrating your 30th wedding anniversary and you might get a little pixie dust. The CSR is beautiful and it is very romantic walking around the Lake at night or sitting in one of the courtyards in the Casitas section.

Have a magical trip and a very Happy 30th Anniversary (we're at 28 this year).

We went once and each had a beer; but like you we were so tired we didn't stay long. If you go, I hope you'll let us know how it was.

Have a magical trip.

The bypass trick is something we will definitely be using; Thanks! If it's not cold, none of us can sleep.:upsidedow

Also, I just want to say thank you to the 2 Disers who pm'd me with some great info. about CSR. I tried to PM back, but I'm not sure if they went through.:disrocks:

Is there a FB group or page you are getting updates on? Can you let me know what it is so I can check it out?

We would like to go back to Disney in 2013. Ok, we want to go back tomorrow but...;)

For our next trip my partner and I are wanting to go without the kids. I am really looking forward to it. We stayed at POP and although nice, it was quite hectic and we would like to have a few table service meals rather than all QS and will be hoping for FD. (Obviously only if it is offered)

Where would you suggest would be a good room location? We don't need to be near the dig pool. Although we might check it out, if we go swimming at the resort at all, a quieter pool with less noise, people and children splashing would nice more relaxing. Neither of us have any mobility issues but that said, I don't want to be walking half a mile if I don't have to. We will probably be looking at just a standard room, not preferred. Somewhat close to a bus stop and the dining area would be nice, like about a 5 minute walk. i would also prefer not to be looking at a parking lot from my room.

Any suggestions would be great.

Also, is there such a thing as a map labelling what rooms/buildings are classed as preferred as opposed to standard? I know I had a map like that for POP Century.

Are there hangers in the rooms at CSR? I can't for the life of me remember. If so, about how many? Finishing my packing for our arrival on SATURDAY!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you may enjoy either Casitas 4 or 5, or any of the Cabanas. Ranchos are supposed to be the quietest, but they are also a considerable distance from El Centro (the dining area). My husband and I will be requesting a Cabana room for 1st choice, and Casitas 4 or 5 for our 2nd choice when we go in Feb.

The preferred rooms are in Casitas 1, 2, and 3. They are closest to El Centro. If you do not want to face a parking lot under any circumstance, you could upgrade to a water view...although that could even mean you would face a pool. Personally, I would rather face a parking lot than a pool...I like my room fairly quiet and don't want to hear screaming kids in the pools. :) All of the rooms seem fairly close to a bus stop since there are 4 bus stops at CSR.

There are hangers in the rooms; just going by pictures online it looks like maybe 10 at the most. I have not been to CSR yet so I can't say for certain.

while we are on the topic of the rooms, and i am so sorry because i am sure this has been answered, are their fridges in all the rooms or do you have to request them?

They sure do.

Its just a fridge though, no freezer.

Thanks for the quick response :) that is fine. fiance and i are going to be driving (yepp, from massachusetts! only about 25 hour ride) :lmao: so i was planning on bringing a case of water and a case of soda for him, and just some breakfast type things because we aren't big breakfast eaters so it would be nice to have a few things that we don't have to spend on there.

Check out the posts on page 1. You will be pleasantly suprised on the info and pics for the CSR. This has been the best thread!! :thumbsup2

Katmark and the others leaving this weekend, ENJOY!!! So excited to hear about your trip when you return.

I have just under a month to go and realized THIS is my only weekend free so..... time to start making the lists and getting things out. I think its safe to say, we won't need shorts here anymore so I guess I can start to lay things out to be packed :cool1: That will surely make the trip feel right around the corner.

So question of the day, Casistas 4 or 5, we requested, is there elevators? We have a stroller with us. Also, does anyone know if they sell Juice boxes or the little horizon milk boxes? I orginally thought I would find a way to run to a store to get a few packs of each but I can't really come up with a realistic way to do that so.... looks like I'll be buying them there.

We also were not really big on being by the Dig Site but the main building was important. We wanted Cabanas and were put in Casitas. We were thrilled with not getting our choice. It was a perfect location. We were the first room at the end of this walkway on the ground floor:

and we faced this courtyyard:

We were as close to the main building as possible. I feel like that is my room now, with others who use it while I'm not there:rotfl:. We love being a quick walk to snacks, drinks, bus stop and still having a very quite room!

Preferred buildings at CSR are Casitas 1, 2 and 3. If you would like to be close to the main building and a bus stop but not necessarily the Dig Site, casitas 4 and 5 are a great choice (near the first stop picked up) and cabanas 9A and 9B are also a good choice (very close to the main building, but in between the third and last stop picked up (bus stop 4-cabanas and stop 1 - El Centro).

If you are willing to pay for preferred, you will definitely be close to the main building.

All of the buidings have elevators except casita 2. There is a connection between casita 2 and casita 3 so you can use that elevator to get to higher floors in casita 2.
