Has anyone stayed in a Junior Suite?

Does anyone know for certain if all the 2 queen suites also have a murphy bed? The Disney site describes them as having double beds and a pull down bed, so I'm guessing their description is from pre refurbishment since it mentions the double beds.

I am looking for a suite type room since it will be me and DH, plus my mom. I'm fine with either of us sleeping on a murphy bed, but I'd rather not take my chances with a pull out sofa.

Thank you for your kind words. I can't take all of the credit as someone else had started it and then the job fell to me. But it has been a pleasure getting to know so many wonderful people by doing this thread. I look forward to following along as your plans progress for your honeymoon. And perhaps next September we will be "home" at the CSR.

Kathy, don't be so self effacing. This is one of the most active threads on the DIS and the reason it's always so active is because of how up to date and friendly you keep it. You work so hard to respond to everyone's questions and if you don't know the answers you find them. CSR should make you their official ambassador and give you free annual trips down there for all you do to promote their resort. I'd never have given CSR another chance if it wasn't for you and Kat3668. Now it's my favorite resort.

I haven't stayed in a junior suite (but we booked one for June ), but all the pictures I have seen show a pull out sofa instead of a murphy bed. I think the murphy bed was pre-refurb and all of the junior suites have a pull out sofa now. There are some pictures on this thread, post #2.

Kathy, that post does reference a murphy bed as well as a sleep sofa. I'm sure you know the answer to the question - are they all sofa beds now?

KatMArk, I agree with abriee, this thread is really what sold me on CSR. I can't wait to see it. I have friends who stayed there (both a long time ago) that said O it's ok and I take your word over theirs I think CSR should give you an annual trip, all in the name of research

Cafeen. My firm will give me a free aircard for the week, which I forgot about until someone above mentioned it so since it's free, I'll go with it. Otherwise I'd be grilling you to explain in english all about that other stuff

Thank you. I can tell you one of the nicest things that happened by my overtaking this thread, is that I have gotten to meet several DISer's, and you are on the top of that list!

My understand is that the Murphy beds are gone; you either get a king in one room and a sleep sofa in the other or two queens in one and a sleep sofa in the other.

Thank you so very much. I hope it lives up to your expectations. As I pointed out before, we leave in 20 days, and I'm having some moments that we won't be at CSR this trip. I still hope to stop by for a gelato.

Just called to upgrade to a water room if possible for Nov and was told only standards were available right now. That was probably the case when I booked in July, hence why I was probably only given an option between standard or suite.

I know someone knows what I can expect as far as view...just don't want to look at a parking lot. We requested Casitas 5 to try to be central to El Centro and the Dig Site (I'm have an inflammation in a joint in my foot that I'm HOPING is resolved before our trip but if not, walking will be a challenge). I know it's not a given. The CM also added a waterview request to my ressie but I don't want to be too grubby with the requests.

The CM suggested I keep calling to see if anything opens up. Anyone have experience with either a standard view or getting an ressie to finally open up for a preferred room before your trip?

On an awesome note, the CM said she's stayed at CSR numerous times and it is definitely one of her absolute favorite resorts!! Raved about the Pepper Market which looks great to me too! Got my excitement going!!!

We've never paid for a waterview room at CSR, but we have never looked at a parking lot. We haven't stayed in all buildings, but most of the buildings are situated such that there is vegetation between the buildings and the parking lots. One of my favorite spots is 8A - we were steps away from the Dig Site, the bus stop, and the parking lot, but we couldn't see any of them from our room!

The bus service at CSR has always been excellent for us. This is taken from the first page and refers to the time once the bus has picked up the last stop (stop #1 at El Centro):

Hollywood Studios - Bus Stop 6 (1st stop) - 6 min ride once leaving resort
AK - Bus Stop 8 (middle) - 6 min ride once leaving resort
MK - Bus Stop 10 (1st) - 10 min ride once leaving resort
Epcot - Bus Stop 7 (2nd) - 7 min ride once leaving resort
BB - Bus Stop 6 (middle) - 3 min ride once leaving resort

The bus stop numbers above refer to where the CSR bus stop is at each park, not the resort bus stops, but the times are leaving CSR travelling to each park. Does that make sense?

You may get it free because your grandfathered. Otherwise, Verizon charges $35 on top of the data plan cost. Most people I know through work who have Verizon vs. ATT choose against it because of the cost. Most with ATT go with it (our work reimburses us for the $25 data plan if we have our work email on our phone so the 4GB and personal hotzone costs me only $20 per month).

I haven't noticed any excessive battery issues, even with me using the Wi-Fi on my iPAD and my DD using the Wi-Fi on her iTouch at the same time. I've used it for an hour-plus with no notice of big battery drain. But yes, you will probably have to plug it in at some point in the day.

Also, you do not have to activate it for the full month nor will you be charged a full month if you only activate it for a part of the month with ATT. You will be pro-rated for whatever time you activate it.

I have ATT and I use the personal hotspot so I know of what I write about.

Thanks very much for your advice! I must admit I am very much not tech savvy. Let me see if I get what you're saying. I have ATT, I also have an iphone. I want to use my laptop five-six days of my seven day vacation. Instead of paying the resort $9.95 per day I can call ATT before I leave and add this stuff that you are talking about for a week?? What I have now is the 200mb plan that costs me $15 per month. About how much would ATT charge me for the service that I need for a week? Also, would my DD and DH also be able to use their smart phones off of my "hotspot" or whatever it's called? She has an iphone, he has an HTC Inspire. Thanks so very much for your help on this! I so appreciate it!!

CSR is actually pretty centrally located, and the buses are very efficient. When leaving the parks, CSR stops also tend to be toward the front or middle of the lines - no trudging to the very last spot to wait for a CSR bus!

I have stayed in the Jr. Suites. Pre-renovation they had murphy beds (which were really uncomfortable!) Post-renovation they have pull our sofas that are Queen to King bed equivalent and really comfy! The second room can have either 2 queens or 1 king bed.

Just changed our resort from CBR to CSR for a March stay. I am so looking forward to staying here. The pool and the grounds look so nice.

We will be on the DDP and will we have to pay gratuity if we eat at the Pepper Market?

Yes...I just called and confirmed with ATT what I had read on numerous iPhone and ATT message boards (I use it continously)...you can activate it at anytime for any duration. If it is less than one month billing cycle, the $25 for the 4GB data plan you need to support the Personal Hotspot and the $20 for the actual Personal Hotspot service will be pro-rated. So you can guesstimate by dividing $45 by the number of billing cycle days in the month x number of days for use. I took 45 divided by 30 and multipled it by 7 days of use = $10.50 for a week but not sure on actual billing cycle + taxes on top.

I am not entirely sure about the other phones but you can connect up to 5 devices (I know iTouches, iPads and laptops for certain) at one time. If those phones are wi-fi capable otherwise (as I know the iPhone is) I don't think you would have a problem. Best to test it before you go.

The only caveat to this is if you have an ATT unlimited data plan that was "grandfathered"....you want to be careful because altering your plan with the Personal Hotspot may negate your grandfathering.

Grandfathered (when used in this context) is basically a company allowing a customer to follow a policy that has been changed to something else (usually more limiting).

So, in these examples, my contract with Verizon has the unlimited plan as it was available when I purchased it (in fact, it was standard, either unlimited for $30/month, or unlimited with Exchange support for $45/month). Since this was the agreement we had when I bought my phone and plan, they honored this agreement when they later did away with the unlimited plans. So, I can stick my tongue out at new customers now because I have it all unlimited, and they can't get it

I'm sure there's a Disney analogy, and I'm thinking old tickets when hoppers came out, but I'd hate to be wrong and make it worse .
