I've been reading this thread for awhile and tomorrow I finally get to go to CSR! Thanks for all the great info.

I see. I remembered the AKL part before CSR but hadn't heard....the rest of the story. ;) Well you can't beat FREE!!!! Have a wonderful time! Maybe I'll see you in the parks. :goodvibes

I will have my KatMark backpack on my back. And our oldest son (Andy, age 25) will be with us.

Glad you are getting a chance to stay at CSR. :goodvibes

So I don't know why but I on occasion check the resorts for the dates we will be there just to see if anything sells out. I checked today with FD and most mod's were sold out and w/o a discount the only room available at CSR was a king suite or a king prefered (king something) but that was it. I hope that doesn't mean it's going to be packed.

We have been at the CSR for free dining the last three years. The values were "overbooked" and a lot of them have been asked to upgrade to a moderate at a small charge. I believe two of the three years, the values and moderates were sold out, but it reallly did NOT effect our stay at all. The lines/times for the attractions were very low (no more than 10 minutes); the only thing busier were the restaurants.

We're headed CSR way in 45 days :banana: We'll have our 19mo with us which could lead to some early nights. I see we can get dinner to go at Pepper Market Can we get "to go" from the TS restaurant?

Does Cafe Rix have "real" coffee? In other words, not Nescafe like almost everywhere else in the World? If so, that would seal the deal for us on booking at CSR for next April.:)

I have never tried, but I can't imagine why you couldn't. They also have room service at the CSR (something none of the other moderates do NOT).

I believe it is the same "Nescafe junk". However, I know that Pepper Market's coffee is different and better (unless they changed since we were ther elast September).

...

I've heard the food at Pepper Market is great but I'm a little confused to how it all works. I know you get seated like a regular restaurant but then they stamp your ticket for food? Can you use the dining plan there? Is it counter service credit?

I'm a CSR newb! Thanks!
I'm going off 2 year old info here. I didn't do PM last year (and not looking like I will this year), but that's only due to what I have planned in general.

Yep, you get seated and a server gets your drinks and refills. After sitting, you're given a ticket to get stamped with what you order. You order and pickup from the little "pod" like things depending on what you want. Sit back down and enjoy. It does count as a CS credit on the DDP and QSDP (DxDDP is just a credit in general).

There is so much to see and do! I've lived in FL since 2000 and still haven't done everything there is to do at Disney.

It's not as difficult to get around as it sounds. Robo always has some great maps on the DIS that make it easy to find places.

We usually stop at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club for a sundae before enjoying some time on the Boardwalk. It's fun to watch people eating a kitchen sink!

Thank you! I will check out the maps here. I do have my eye on Beaches and Cream from some of the reports. :goodvibes

It all switched to Nescafe at CSR. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but the turn around seems pretty good in that when I did have it, it was fresh.

Just did online check in:banana::banana: Now I only have to wait for the 10 tortuous days to pass.:rotfl2:

edited to add: I really should remember to update my ticker when I change my plans!

I'm assuming thats what the king preferred would be. Maybe somebody else can answer that question. As for the dining yes they accep the dining plan. Pepper Market accepts it as well as Cafe Rix, Maya Grill and Siestas Pool Bar & Grill. For Pepper Market you go up to the podium and they hand you a sheet and lead you to your table where they take your drink orders. Then you get up and go and order your food from each station like you would at a normal CS restaurant. They mark off what you order on your sheet. You wait for the food and then bring it back to your tables. They refill your drinks for you and take your dishes away and you tip them and then bring your sheet up to the register and pay. It counts as a counter service credit.

Does the sheet show you which snacks can be chosen as part of the DP? I'm thinking my DS16 may want to do a snack add on.

We just got back tonight from 2 weeks at CSR and needless to say we're exhausted!!! As always, we loved our stay at CSR. Check in was very quick. I had requested Cabanas and ended up in Ranchos 7B. We really wanted a corner room on the third floor, but were not in a corner room. The woman checking us in called and said to head up to our room and someone else would call and see if we could be moved. When we got there, Stephanie called and she had found a corner room 2 rooms down from where we were. I then asked if there was a corner room facing the quiet pool. She was able to find one and we couldn't have been happier. We were in room 7783 which overlooked the quiet pool. It was about a 3 minute walk to the Dig Site and probably a 7 minute walk to the main building. I also went to the gym quite a few times and that was closer to a 10 minute walk. As someone else pointed out, while it is a big resort and does require some walking, that's all you do all day long at the park anyway, so what's the big deal.

My girls enjoyed the games at the Dig Site pool area in the afternoon. I don't remember these at any other moderates in past years, but maybe we just always missed them.

We went to Pepper Market once. We don't enjoy the set-up at all and only went once. I know that many are ok with it, but it's just not to our liking.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

WOW--2 weeks! You are so lucky. I'm glad you were able to get a corner room and that the girls enjoyed the pool games.

Thanks again for letting us know how things went.

4 more sleeps we are so excited. One question about the dig pool, is it pretty shallow in some areas?

How have the buses been this last little bit?

I check in today! Hoping we get a great location.

My 7 year old could stand at some spots but most of the pool was over his head.

I "think" that the shallowest part is around 3 1/2 feet. It is not a zero entry pool.

There is a small kiddie pool that is probably less than a foot deep.

Just did our online check in! Can't believe that the trip is just around the corner... I am SO unprepared for this trip. Too much going on with back to school, soccer practices, work, and everything else that makes us human.

I so need this vacation; don't really care what section or building we end up in. Hoping for either Ranchos 7B or Cabanas 8A, but will be happy no matter where we are.

Happy tripping to everyone who will be there soon!

~Kelly

I need so much help! I have lots of questions. I booked this on Sunday and I leave in one week from today!!

1. I recieved a packet from WDW with lugagge tags and vouchers but nothing for DME? SHould I have something from DME?

2. I have the magiacal memories package but there is nothing in my paperwork that is for the free memory book.

3. Are there any advatages to doing the on line check in?

4. If I want to stay in the cabanas do I just request the cabana's or do I specify a building? Which building do you suggest?

5. Does anyone want to help plan this trip? LOL I have not even had a chance to figure out what park on what day. It is just DH and I. We are thinking sleep in, hang at the pool and head to parks in late afternoon for dinner and rides. Two parrks hav late night EMH while we are there so will stay untill 1:00am. Is this a good plan? Trying to avoid the heat as much as I can.

Thanks so much:)
