Amber, I won't make a judgment on whether you're too crazyBut we actually put a request for top floor Ranchos![]()
We wanted the top floor because we HATE people above us stomping on the floors. We are are awakened very easily.
We requested the Ranchos because it's much more quiet out there. Especially since the last half of our trip is going to be during one of the busiest times of the year (Christmas week). I am pretty sure they would be able to give us those requests since they don't usually get a request for those 2 things together
We're not too crazy are we?
Amber, I won't make a judgment on whether you're too crazy, but I always make the same request wherever I stay of "top floor" for the same reason. In fact, I was even thinking of simply requesting "top floor/corner room" and not even specifying a building, in hopes of increasing my chances. What do you guys think?
Since we're on the topic of room noise reduction, does anyone know if the thermostat fan can be set to "on" so that it runs all the time like at the Deluxes? I always do this to help "drown out" noise. Yes, I'm kooky, the username says it all.
I don't think you are kooky. Well, I won't make that judgement call anywayI am one that usually brings a small fan whenever I travel. I recently purchased a SoundScreen (google it) that makes whitenoise to help me sleep. I have seen them in several medical offices. They work really well. A bit pricey ($50) but they are smaller than fans and don't have the mechanical sounds that annoy me in hotel fans/AC units. It should also help with any noise neighbors make

Re the fan: I don't know if this keeps the fan on all the time or just keeps the room cool all night, but here are the instructions I got for bypassing the movement sensors:Amber, I won't make a judgment on whether you're too crazy, but I always make the same request wherever I stay of "top floor" for the same reason. We stayed at CBR two yrs ago, and loved the fireworks. So my ? is can you see the fireworks from CSR? And what is the best location for the playground and dig site pool? We are planning on booking for a trip in middle of April. Still hoping for FREE dining, but not looking to good so far.
Thanks in advance.![]()
So I stayed at CSR a few days ago, and I have to say, it was really nice! The best part was the rooms, which were so much more roomy than CBR, and complete with nice white sheets and beds just like the Deluxe resorts, even the bathroom had the Deluxe fancy soaps! Casitas was lovely at night when the fountains were lit up, and so was El Centro. The bus stopped right in front of our building, and we had great service to boot. (We originally had Ranchos and then got a change.)
I guess my only problem with the moderates is the sheer size of it all. It makes getting a mug refilled a complete pain in the butt, especially after being tired from the parks all day and if we went when it was hot, I would not be happy. The only other weird thing I really disliked was the pepper market table situation, but for breakfast we could sit in the Rix bar/lounge area which was a nice compromise. I would definitely say for people looking to move down a level and save money, the CSR is a great bet and good value for your money.
So excited! This has been such a rough week! I put in a request for time off last June, but as usual my supervisor never let me know if it was approved or not. Since he always gives me my time off, I assumed that as usual it was approved. He knows I go to WDW the first or second week of Dec, first or second week of May, and then sometime in Sept or Oct every year and he always lets me off. I work 11-7 shift on the smallest unit in our hospital and am the only RN on my unit at night. Knowing this, I always turn my requests in months in advance so he can find coverage and he always has. However, this time there was a glitch. My nurse manager has been off for about a month, just returning this past Monday (11/29). His secretary just slotted my requests into a blank schedule template and turned it in. Due to problems of his own and being off all month, no one knew he had not gotten coverage for me and nursing administration denied my whole vacation.
I didn't find this out until the Dec schedule came last Monday (22nd) and knew my nurse manager wouldn't be back in to fix it until Monday (29th)--four days before I was supposed to leave.
To add to the problem, the two 3-11 shift RNs both had conflicts as did the weekend RN, so none of them could cover like they normally do. I spoke to my nurse manager's supervisor, but was told there was nothing she could do, as the unit had to be covered. I called my nurse manager at home. He said he'd see what he could do when he got back and apologized, but said he wasn't sure if anything could be done at this late date. I reminded him that I had booked the trip months ago and couldn't afford to cancel this late. I've been in a panic now for over a week, thinking I was going to have to cancel or reschedule. Anyway, I made some calls of my own last Friday to several nurse friends of mine who work here at the hospital and by Monday (11/29) I had all the days covered except for this Friday (12/03). My supervisor came back to work Monday and said he'd see what he could do. Anyway he called me at home yesterday afternoon, to tell me to go ahead and pack and if necessary he'd come in and work that one day I couldn't get covered. Anyway, since I requested my time way back last June and didn't find out it was denied until 12 days before my trip, I've been mad for over a week now.
Now I'm just excited to be going. After the last week I really, really need this vacation.
I'll be checking into CSR Saturday Dec 4th. Is it too late to do online check in?
On our way to the airport!!!!!!!
11 days before we fly and 2 of my 3 kiddos have coughs and nasty noses!!! I really hope they are over these colds by the time we go. I put them in quarantine when they first showed symptoms. Even took them out of preschool, lol.
I didn't pay over $4,000 for this trip just for them to be sick and miserable the whole time we are at Disney World![]()
