You would actually be better off asking for Castias 4; Casitas 3 is a long haul to the main pool and is now a preferred location which costs more. We have stayed in Casitas 4 and 5 a number of times and it takes me about five minutes (I am over 50 as is DH) to walk to the main building for coffee, food, etc., and about seven minutes to the main pool (it only takes me 10 minutes or longer if I stop to take pictures along the way...which, even after nine stays, I still do).

Thanks KatMark....but how would you describe the walks' distance in terms of Poly distance? From Casitas 4 to digsite, Casitas 4 to Pepper Market? and Cabanas 9a, 8b? I have never visited CSR and only see the map and pictures on here and on you-know-who's-site(wink wink). I am HORRIBLE with judging distance/time without landmarks. I also drive using landmarks:rotfl2: My biggest concern is being closer to food and semi-close to bus-stops. We eat bfst in our room every morning. DH makes the trek to get the hot food n coffee while I make the girls cold bfst in the room from gardengrocer goodies. We also tend to eat several lunches/dinners at our home resort. I figure we will only visit the main pool once a day but we will need the bus stop and food market apx 2 times a day.

My concern with cabanas is...from the map...looks like pepper market is on the far end of El Centro close to casitas. Is this correct? or no??

On Monday, I can do online check in. I've never done this before. If I want to be in a certain building, can I make that request when I do the check in online? I know what building I'd like to be in, but if I don't get it, it's no big deal. I'll still be at CSR and Disney!:cool1:

Can anyone tell me if refridgerators are in the room or do I have to ask for one to be delievered to the room? Also, is there a charge for it?

Thanks

You can only request a crib, near transportation or first floor with online check in. You can request a refrig too, but your room at CSR comes with a refrig.

Thanks

Comes with the room, no charge

Are there hair dryers in the room? I tend to think so, but I never see them shown in any pictures.

We are leaving for a stay at CSR in less than two weeks. I have been there 6 previous trips but never with just my family. SOOOOOOOO excited!

When we were there in January, my husband arrived a day and a half later than the rest of us, took a late flight and by the time he got to the resort it was about midnight. There were no food or beverage options open....he had not had dinner so he went to bed pretty hungry.

So I am wondering this, do the CRS restaurants stay open later during busy times? We are arriving on a late flight. Leaving MI about 5:30 but then a quick flight change with no time to eat and a 10:30 arrival at MCO. By the time we get to CSR it will be quite late. Any chance we'll be able to get a snack and beverages before bed?

Also, we are thinking of ordering beverages and breakfast items from Garden Grocer. If we arrive at the resort around midenight, will we be able to get out graceries from bell services? Will they refrigerate them until our arrival?

I've always taken student groups to CSR. I can't wait to be ther with just my family. We are planning our first day as a Dig Site day....all day.

Grace&Carolinesmom, we have stayed in Tahiti twice at the Polynesian. I would say that staying Casitas 4 or 5 is the same distance to the main building (El Centro--location of restaurants, gift shop and registration) as it is from Tahiti to the Grand Ceremonial House; Casitas 4 or 5 might be a minute or two longer to the pool than it is from Tahiti to the Polynesian pool. Casitas 4 or 5 will put you close to Bus Stop 2 which is the first stop picked up and dropped off. As I've mentioned before, we really like Casitas 4 and 5 and I walk and get our coffee every morning while DH is taking shower, getting dressed, etc.

We've also stayed in Cabanas 9A and 8A; we prefer 8A because it is really close to the main pool and a short walk over the bridge to the main building. Now, we've only done 8A once, but I would say it is about the same distance to the main building as it would be from Tahiti at the Polynesian. Cabanas 9A is closer to the main building and the last bus stop picked up. Let me know if this helps.

I believe the only thing you can request "online" is "near transportation and first floor"; I know you cannot request a certain building. I would have it noted on your reservation because people say thath the computer is now "assigning" rooms at all of the resorts.

This picture kind of shows the hair dryer. It's hung in a white bag over a hanger in the closet.

This is TOTALLY helpful! Thx so much!:flower3: Exactly what I am looking for. We do not find any of the Poly walks long but many people think it is so speadout--just like people say about CSR. The longest walk we have had at Poly was from Aotearoa to the TTC. We stayed at YC last time and the walk from YC to Epcot FutureWorld in the morning was too much for DD9 who has some special needs. it led to early morning magical meltdowns which is no fun for anybody:sad2: The distances you speak of sound very reasonable. I think we would be fine as long as we are not in Ranchos. They do not appeal to me due to theme and location.

Thanks lovethattink and KatMark! Like I said, as long as I'm in Disney and at CSR, what building I get is NOT a problem! I love walking, and a nice walk to get a cup of coffee, doesn't bother me at all!:goodvibes
