Question for you CSR foodies I'd like opinions from those of you have eaten ar Rose and Crown. We wanted to try La Cellier but they are booked the whole week we are at Disney. I've booked Biergarten. We ate there 3 years ago and hubby loved it. Any other suggestions for our Epcot day? Is O'Hana too noisy ans chaotic for an old married couple?:rotfl2:

I've never eaten at R&C or Le Cellier. We ate at Biergarten twice in the last month. The first time the food was excellent!! The chicken spatzle melted in my mouth. The 2nd time, the chicken spatzle was so chewy, I totally wasted it. The show was actually a bit different each time, which was surprising to me.

We really enjoyed Teppan Edo and Via Napoli in Epcot.

I agree with both of these choices. We ate at Via Napoli for the first time this past May. I was surprised at how much all three of us loved it. It was one of the best meals of the trip. I liked it so much that I'm meeting friends there Sept 14th and then dining solo there Dec 1st. I'm meeting the same friends at Teppan Edo Sept 15th and am dining solo at Tokyo Dining (which I also enjoy) Dec 3rd. lol

My wife and I have been seriously talking over the past few days of switching our May 2012 trip from WL over to CSR. We really enjoyed CSR in May 2010. We'd be able to save about $1,300. We'd really only be in the room at night to sleep.

One question: Is Maya Grill open for breakfast all the time? I could have sworn in May 2010 it wasn't (but maybe that's because I wasn't paying to much attention, we only had quick service dining).

Just 2 days until we head down to CSR!!! I can't wait!!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Please enjoy my hammock, especially since we've changed resorts and we won't be there in September. :sad2:

Hope you have a most magical trip.

I have never known Maya Grill to be closed for breakfast. Could they have been remodeling at the time you were there? They did go from a buffet to a regular menu last year some time. :confused3

I will! But I see you are staying at Animal Kingdom?? I'm not sure if you've stayed there before, but if you haven't, you will LOVE it. It's absolutely beautiful. :cloud9:

Thanks! :wizard:

I'm starting to make a list of things to pack/buy already (I know, I know), but does anyone know what the hookups on the TVs are like? I know I read somewhere they have A/V plugins, but do they have HDMI? I'm trying to find a way to hook it up to my laptop so we can watch DVDs and stuff in the evenings.

I am such a warm-weather summer person that I can't believe I am ready for winter to hurry up and get here!! We've had reservations for a while now but were able to get Free Dining when the new code came out, so that saved us over $500! I am so excited. We may let DD, who is 4, do Bippity Boppity Boutique (spelling?), since we have unexpected extra $. Anyone have any experience with that in the past?

Maybe I am making it up then. :rotfl2: Well, then we are going to switch over to CSR then. :woohoo:

Yes, we are staying in a one-bedroom villa in Kidani for two nights and just hanging at resort and doing swimming and animal watching; then we are moving to Old Key West in a studio (it was a no-brainer as the OKW we were "given" the points and did not pay for them).

It cuold have been closed...I just don't remember.

Hi

We are going to CSR for the first time in ..... 10 days!!!!
I did the online check in today. I have been reading the thread and trying to figure out where to request- if to request a room.

I was thinking - and would appreciate opinions-
Casitas 4 -
we have a two year old who cant do the slide so there is a quiet pool there, but we can wander over the the dig pool every so often for the playground/kid pool and so I can do the slide!! :yay:

its close to the first bus stop so good for getting on the bus with a stroller and off first coming back from the parks. My husbands request.

far for drink refills ?- do we do this at peppermarket? we stayed at the pop last year and filled up once a day in the evening.

its near the health club and I have a triathlon a week after returning so if I can it would be good to exercise ... if I have the energy!!

but I keep on thinking cabanas 8a is close to the dig pool, main building and suggested for young families.....and it has lots of hammocks which hubby would like. I am scared of lying there and a snake coming to visit!!

and I am going to ask for not ground floor!!!

So what do you think?? Casitas or cabanas????

We've stayed in the Casita's the past three times we were there (07, 08, 2010) and I love that section. Building Four can be a bit far for drinks (Trust me, I'm the drink runner :yay: ) but you can cut through Building 3, 1 and then the Convention Center. That takes you out right next to the Pepper Market.

Also, during the day, you can get it filled at the bar and QS area by the Main Pool.

We're doing the Cabana's this year. 8A is what we're hoping for. Like you said, close to everything.

And don't worry too much about snakes. I've never had that problem.

You arrive the day we leave. Enjoy :)

Single digit dancer here!!!
We are approx 6 days until out 10 day stay at CSR...
We stayed there last year and loved it...kids and I loved the pepper market for lunch and the dig site is such a great pool!! We stayed Cabanas 8A last year and are hoping for the same...

:banana::):banana:

Does anyone know what the 2012 convention dates are yet for Coronado Springs? I couldn't find a list in the thread but I know there was a list for 2011 because I had seen it before.:goodvibes

This morning I re-ran our numbers and realized just how tight things were going to be staying Deluxe. Since our one night deposit at the Boardwalk nearly equals an entire 3 night stay at a moderate I called this morning and was given the choice of CBR or CSR. Thanks so much for this thread, I chose CSR for the room decor and the rave reviews of the pool bar alone! LOL. I requested the Cabanas 8A or 8B for their proximity to the main pool. I'm nervous, (we're Poly die hard people), but this thread is helping me keep my spirits up. Thanks again!

I know exactly how you feel. I wanted to try BC this time, (love the whole walkin to Epcot idea) - but after running the numbers, realize it's WAY more than last years trip to CSR. So this year we are going to POR instead. Loved CSR, by the way. We had 9B which was super close to everything and I requested it and got it. I think you're smart going with one of the 8 buildings, however, because I would definetly use that bus stop if I were you. We were so close to the main bldg. we used that stop and it was the last stop before leaving and always full by the time it got to us. We mostly stood on our way to the parks. Also, the 8's are closer to the quiet pool and laundry which will be nice. Have fun!

I think you will really enjoy CSR. For those that are used to deluxe I think its a great choice. The main pool is incredible and the dining choices (including room service), spa, salon, athletic club all make it feel almost like a deluxe.

We loved the Poly but just cannot justify that pricetag (or any other deluxe right now). Even with discounts, the difference between the Poly and a moderate is so huge, and having stayed at the Poly and all four mods, I just can't see us doing the deluxe route anytime soon.

I just booked CSR last night, I am a diehard POR lover but our dates fall in a time when we might not get a refurbbed room and dh wants a change. We stayed at CSR back in 2006 and can't wait to go back.

I hope you enjoy it too!
