Hey Robin K,:thumbsup2

We arrive about noon on the 13th and plan to spend the day at the dig site and quite pool at 7B (if our request is granted). :goodvibes It would be fun to update the two Springfield's Ill. and Ma
39 days out and getting excited. Last December we visited CSR and fell in love the everything about the resort and are really looking forward to this trip.
Thx

Well after waiting for the December promo's to come out an than a couple of days of deciding we have booked a 14 night stay at CSR Dec. 14th-28th. We knew we would be spending at least part of our stay at CSR, but were considering a split stay at one of the Deluxe's. In the end though the with the Free Dining promo it just work out better and easier to spend the whole trip at CSR. We paid for a waterview room and are hoping for something poolside at Casitas 4, but any of the Cabanas would be great too!! We have some great ADR's, we have been doing those since our 180 day window opened up. This will be our 3rd Christmas in Orlando in 4 years, should be a great time. I figure after two cold Decembers in a row in Orlando the law of averages suggests it would have to be back to warmer temps this year!!:)

We will be staying at CSR for one night this month. I'm really excited to try out the resort. Our package is actually at CBR, but I just wanted to spend our arrival night(we drive) at a different place. By the look of the pictures, I think it could easily become my favorite. :goodvibes I can't wait to find out!!!

Last night I put a room request on our reservation for Casitas. Since we will only be there for one day/night, does it really matter what building we will be in?

Thanks!!!!:goodvibes

Great information & pictures! I've never stayed at Coronado Springs but I just booked my in-laws there for their first ever Disney trip. We treating them to a 3 night get away. It looks like they are going to have an awesome time at their resort!!!!!!!

That is soooo nice! :love:

Planning our 4th trip to CSR for Aug 2012! 2011 is our first time in years we can't make a trip to WDW :( so I'm soothing myself by planning WAY far ahead for next year.

We :love: CSR. It's beautiful, quiet, has great bus service, we've only had good meals at Pepper Market, and it definitely has more of a "deluxe" feel to it. Thought I'd break out of our routine last summer, so we stayed 10 days at CBR. Bad idea...nobody was happy. Not because it was a bad place, it just wasn't our favorite.

We've always stayed in Cabanas on previous stays. My plan for next year is to request Casitas building 4 upper floor room. Love the views from there!!

Sorry there's no trip this year, but very excited for you about 2012!! I agree, I love the feel of CSR, it's home! Will you be doing a PTR?

:goodvibes Can't wait for our first trip to CSR. We will also be there Sept 24-30. There is a total of 17 of us going, staying between 5 rooms. We have requested to be away from the dig site. Our kids are all older but one, and she will only be 9 mths, so we figured we could walk there is needed. Thanks for all the tips about CSR.

My one question is.... What are your thoughts on The Maya Grill? Any good? Worth using one of our dining credit on?

We really enjoyed eating breakd=fast there when they had the buffet. We're heading back next April and are hoping that they bring the buffet back. Also we're not sure if they are going to be on the dining plan in 2012.

I'm really excited for 2012, too! pixiedust: I may work on a PTR, although won't torture the masses (and my family) with it until closer to the date.

Really good friends of ours stayed at CSR on our suggestion last year and loved it, too! They will be returning in 2012 and our trip will overlap by a few days. All the kids are super excited about staying in the same resort...especially since they do WDW very similarly to us - parks in the am, lots of breaks, lots of pool time (both families are WDW regulars). They plan to stay in Cabanas again, while we are going to try out the Casitas if it all works out...close, but not TOO close (kwim? :wink: )

No....what DO you mean????

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Just kidding!!!!!!! I LOL when I read this. It is so true. Just like with family....you want them close but not TOOOOOO close. Gotta have time apart so that you can complain about them .:rotfl:

We are planning a trip to WDW in March and I am trying to decide on a resort. We stayed at CBR a few years ago and it is pretty but I really didn't like that it is such a big resort. Is CSR much like CBR in regards to size? We stayed at POFQ and I liked it very much but just wanted to try a different resort. Thanks!

CBR is larger than CSR. The lake at the center of CBR is 3x larger than CSR's (45 acres vs. 15 acres). CBR has just a few more rooms than CSR, though. I think the biggest difference is that CBR has 7 bus-stops around the property while CSR only has 4, and you're never more than about 5 minutes from a bus-stop. CSR is set up differently, too, in that the main pool (The Dig Site) is not near the main building where the restaurants are (El Centro), so you can be close to one, or close to the other or midway in between. We love CSR. It has a great 'feel' to the resort. On our most recent stay at CSR, we were in the Ranchos section, which is close to the Dig Site. It was less than 5 minutes from our room to the main pool (which is great fun!). It took us about 10 minutes to walk from our room to El Centro, which I don't think is bad at all, and that's with my 5-yr-old walking.

CSR has beautiful grounds and some amenities that other mods don't have. It has queen beds (like POFQ just now got), a fitness center, salon, spa and room service. We have had excellent bus service there, too.

Good luck with your decision!

:rotfl: I love them, I really do. Just not enough to spend everyday with them.;)

Well, you did it! You made me change my mind which isn't extremely hard to do in most situations but one was a little different.

We're coming to WDW from Nov. 3-12 and were booked at POP. We stayed there before and loved it. Had no problems going with it over a moderate. We had stayed at POR 2x before and I wasn't interested in a repeat there or staying at POFQ because it is so similar. :bored: Read things about CBR that turned me off from there. Never considered CSR because well, it was a convention hotel. :snooty:

Then something strange and wonderful happened. Well, two things. I realized taking a couple of things into account, upgrading to a moderate would only be a few hundred dollars. But that still wasn't enough to change my mind on POP becuase there were no mods that peaked my interest...UNTIL...I stumbled upon this thread and another one with lots of photos. And what do think happened....yes, I called CR this morning and moved us from POP to CSR. CAN.NOT.WAIT. :teeth:

Oh, and before I forget...:thanks::disrocks:

You won't regret it!! I honestly believe that CSR almost a Deluxe resort at the Mod price. The fitness center and spa are better than most of the Deluxe resorts. They have an actual nightclub/lounge. The pool is one of the best at DW. The scenery is great and IMO CSR and CBR have the best bus service at DW.

It's official - we're booked into CSR next March with FREE DINING! :cool1::banana: We stayed at CBR for our first trip to Disney last year (and really loved it), but we wanted to try something different this time. Having looked at all of the amazing pictures here, I am really excited to explore this beautiful resort! Now comes the hard part - the waiting... :goodvibes

A question that all the CSR veterans would probably know...

We decided not to take ME this trip (bad experience the last time) and would like to stop somewhere to get beer/wine/water for our room on our way to CSR. We're from Pennsylvania, to the liquor rules are VER different than most places...in PA you have to go to a liquor store to purchase wine and a beer distributor to purchase anything larger than an 18 pack of beer. Is Florida the same way, or could we just stop at a grocery store and pick up wine and beer? And which place would you reccomend we stop at (any favorites?)

TIA!!
