Does CSR have elevators? We are a family of 5 w/ 2 babies and a double stroller. I don't want to lug it up stairs at the end of a long day in the parks. Thanks

Yes, all of the buildings have elevators EXCEPT for Casitas 2 (although you can access Casitas 2 by using the elevator for Casitas 3--but it is confusing.

We just checked out after a 3 night/4 day stay. We loved the resort again and were in Building 8A which we loved in Oct! It's near the parking lot, main pool, and a short walk to the main building! Our Mousekeeping was good, the nachos at the pool bar are awesome, and we ate 3 meals at Pepper Market all of which were good!

We will however, research the conventions there next time. I noticed in passing that there was a huge convention there the 1st-2nd and didn't think of it as a huge deal until we got there and saw several groups of teens and kids running everywhere, no manners, cutting in front of you in the dining lines, screaming/slamming doors in the hallways, and having the pool/hot tub overrun and loud. We quickly noticed that the kids/teens with parents/supervisors were very well behaved but not all of them were!

In Oct when we stayed there, there were at least 2 conventions there at the time but they were mainly just adults but this was totally different this time!

We love the resort but next time, we'll research the conferences more!

We loved 8A when we were in it last September. Sorry you had to deal with some obnoxious kids...I don't understand why "groups" cannot supervise their kids.

We made the plunge today, and will be staying June 4-9th to celebrate son's 10th birthday and him coming to be with our family 3 years ago. We booked a waterview room, but requested to be near "The Dig" site. Which area would that be? Being far out is not a problem for us as we will have a car, and sure don't mind walking as we would probably find something to look at along the way.

Ranchos 7B or Ranchos 8A or 8B would be close to the Dig Site.

And congratulations to you and your son! :goodvibes

If they honor your request you would probably be in cabanas 8a/b or Ranchos 7b by the quiet pool. We had a pool view room in Ranchos 7b last Dec and it was a great location. You have a quiet pool right outside your door with a beautiful view and the dig site is only a 2-3 min walk away!! One of the better locations if you don't care about being right beside the food court.

Do any of you know if Panchitos sells pool noodles? We bought 2 of these on our last trip(at SAB) and the kids had a blast with these the whole trip then we gave them to another family on our last day at PBH, I need to know if Panchitos sells these or if I should order them from gardengrocer. Thanks:goodvibes

My 7 year old insists he saw sand toys and pool noodles at Panchitos. I don't remember seeing them there. I remember seeing them at POP Century though.

I just booked a last-minute (for us) surprise sneak-in for the week leading up to Labor Day under the FD promotion at CSR!!!! We are so super-excited and I wanted to share and to thank everyone on this thread (esp. KatMark) for giving such wonderful descriptions of CSR to make it our mod of choice. We didn't think we could afford to go back this year but thanks to FD, decent air fares, some diligent saving and the generousity of DH, we are just doing it!!! We usually stay deluxe but decided to give a mod a try again because of the budget. Our daughter is going into senior year in HS...you know what we have to think about!

I requested building 7b because DS(14) likes the look of Ranchos the best and we are celebrating his 8th grade graduation.

I will be doing a live report this year like I did last year from the Poly and AKL. Really looking forward to it!!!

Thank you for the kind words; I'm glad the thread has been helpful to you.

We used to always stay deluxe (CR and Poly) and we have had no problem with our switch ten stays ago at the CSR (we prefer it in many regards).

How I know what you will be thinking about with your DD in her last year of HS; we just had our youngest graduate from college...now the school loans need to be paid back. :scared1:

I think Ranchos 7B is a great location to ask for...nice and close to the main pool.

Congratulations to your DS on his 8th grade graduation.

50 days to go! Thank you to all who have posted on this thread. It has been so helpful! So excited to see the resort in person!

We were there from 6/25-7/2 for my dd's dance nationals. The place was empty till Friday when hoards of kids/teens/adults came in then the whole atmosphere changed. It was the US Open/World Championships Karate Tournament. They were from all over, but the families we saw that were rude were - surprise surprise - the teams from brazil and uraguay. Just like the parks, they ran, pushed, took (yes I saw a few swipe food from the cafe and run). Very disappointing. However, this did not ruin our trip. The rooms were a little smaller (we are use to DVC 1 bedrooms LOL) but very comfortable and clean - no problems at all (except one night the smoke alarm went off - that's another story!). We did Pepper market for breakfast a few times (mickey waffles yum) and once for lunch and found it good. The pool was great too. All CM's we encountered went out of their way to help us. If we didn't belong to DVC we would def stay there again. Oh - we were in Cabanas 9B - quick walk to dig site, quicker walk to El Centro :) The nights we were back to the hotel early and hanging in the pool we did hear Fantasmic - that's how close we were! The gift shop was great too - found some stuff there I didn't see anywhere else. All in all it was a great hotel to stay ;)

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the very helpful info in this thread! We had originally planned on a trip to the Poly if free dining was offered in August/September but, decided to save some money and go with a moderate. After a lot of searching and reading reviews we decided to pick Coronado Springs. We stayed at Port Orleans last year in August and loved it. In 2009 we camped at Fort Wilderness and loved that also. My girls are so excited to see what Coronado has to offer!!!

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what might be a good area to request with 11, 9 and 7 year old girls? We looked at all the pictures and seem to like the looks of all the building areas. We are traveling with my brother and sister-in-law and will have 2 standard rooms (hopefully near each other). We have no need to be near a bus stop and will likely only eat at Pepper Market once during our stay. Also, my 11 year old would like to know if Coronado can make ice cream shakes like the ones they make at Port Orleans ;)

Thank you!

Heather

I'm sure they have milkshakes, but I don't know if there exactl like the ones at POR....lol!!

I'm guessing your kids will want to be close to the pool? If so Cabanas 8A or 8B and Ranchos 7B would be great locations.

Hi y'all,
We're staying at CSR this December, in two rooms that don't have to adjoin. My folks are seniors who can't walk too far. We'd all like quiet rooms with nice enough views (even if from the balcony). We're likely to prefer the quiet pool, and want to be near to El Centro restaurants & bus stop. What do you suggest we request when booking room?
Thanks,
RPiff

We got a "preferred room" our last stay and it put us in Casitas 3, 2nd floor. We were mere steps from the quiet pool and a 2 minute walk to El Centro. We thought it was a great location.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what area we should ask to stay. We will be spending alot of time at the pools so being close to that and the bus stop is important. TIA!

Hi there... I have drifted through most of the postings here and the awesome pictures... this resort looks beautiful! I just booked at this resort for the first time the week of Labor day.
I couldn't pass up the chance to attend a convention at my happy place!:cool1:
One question, since I booked my reservation through the conventionears web site, can I still call and place room location requests and even upgrade to a preferred room? From what everyone has said, the casitas 1-3 would be the closest to the convention center.
The convention is actually the 7th-9th, but I am staying the 4th-11th, and do all the things I didn't get a chance to do when I was there with the family the first week of June! :thumbsup2

I have a question regarding the $15 nightly fee per adults three and four.

We have a reservation for four adults. Was this fee figured into the total cost of the package when I booked the reservation? or is this going to be a "surprise" when I check-in/out? I'm pretty sure when I made the reservation, I was asked how many adults and/or children. If it wasn't factored into the original price, what a pain in the neck...

Any help/information is greatly appreciated. :-)

- E

If you gave the names and ages of all guests in the room, your price should include the additional adult charge. Every time I've changed a reservation from 2 to 3 adults, the room rate changed.

If you're in doubt, call Disney and ask.

in the past we've also booked three adults one child in a room. i agree with snykymom. your quote will include the extra adult charges. 45 days to go and you'llbe in the world!!! im so jealous. have fun and enjoy your trip!!!

Thanks Snykymom, I thought that would make sense since I had to include the information when I made the reservation, but I'm going to call just to be sure.

Lisam427, Thank you so much! I'm very much looking forward to the trip; It'll be my first stay at CSR resort as well... It can't get here fast enough! :-)

Yes, I have gained a lot of information from this thread. Very helpful.:goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed your stay despite the "travelers from Brazil, etc." I have seen rude people here and there at Disney, but the tourists from Brazil are awful!

I've always favored CSR's gift shop. :)

Heather, I would definiteloy suggest Cabanas 8A or 8B (9A would put you close to the quiet pool and not far from the main pool).

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what area we should ask to stay. We will be spending alot of time at the pools so being close to that and the bus stop is important. TIA!

Definitely Cabanas 8A or Ranchos 7B.

I wish I knew the answer to your question. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask; or you could ask when you check in. I doubt the "preferred" locations sell out since they aren't close to the pool.
