We will be staying at CSR for 2 weeks. I'm trying to decide which building to request. Our priorities are proximity to bus stop and main pool. Which would you suggest as your first choice; Cabanas 8A or Ranchos 7B?

It is beautiful! We usually stay at POR but decided to try something different. We loved it! We found our new home.

Us too! It was such a beautiful resort and we loved everything about it. I still love Riverside too but Coronado is my family's new favorite resort. It's funny too because I wasn't sure about staying there but we moved because of my daughters cheer group. I'm so glad that we did.

I don't have a map infront of me but if you want to be close to the main pool I would think Ranchos would be your best bet. We were in building 5 in Castas (sp?) and we were not to far from the pool, maybe 4-5 minutes.

Personally I would book preferred and be close to the food court, small pool and the best bus stop #2. We had to walk to it from our building but it wasn't far. Buildings 1-3 are closer to that stop and they are preferred rooms. That bus stop is the first to load & unload. It was great!!!

Anyone keeping an eye on conference dates? A certain site hasn't updated in a while so I did my own googling and found the following during or around our planned dates:

October 8-12: Travel Planners International
October 14-15: YoCream University
October 18-24: Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians
October 19-23: IESALC Conference
October 22-23: American Association of Zoo Veterinarians
October 30-November 1: IWCA-NCPTW Conference
October 31-November 2: GBS-CIPD Int'l Symposium
November 20-22: IWLCA

Thanks! I did some updating of the first page last week, but I didn't make it all the way to October with my Google search. I will add these to the first page.

Both buildings are very close to the main pool and the cabanas bus stop. We have stayed twice in 8A and love the location. Ranchos 7B will have a quiet pool and laundry as well.

Wow, it's been so long since I looked at the first page of this thread, I forgot there was even a schedule there! I wish I could find reliable figures on past attendance levels for these conferences...I have my heart set on staying in the Casitas and I'm already panicking!

We will be checking into CSR on 02/26/13. We (husband and I) have never stayed at this resort. We are booked in a preferred king room (I believe this will be casitas 1, 2 or 3). Is there a building that is most preferred? We are both in our late 50s and my husband uses an ECV. I don't mind walking, or standing on the bus, but would prefer to be near 1st bus stop for ECV convenience.
Thank you!

. Bus stop 2 picks up first which would be convenient for the ecv. Casita 2 or 3 are convenient.

Thank you, MrsTomRice. Is there a fax number for CSR room requests? I faxed requests to AoA and POFQ for our last trip and got them both!

I'm excited to stay here for part of our trip coming up! The Resort looks soooo beautiful!

What is the current status on pool hours for the main and quiet pools? One of the most disappointing things about my last WDW trip (at ASMu) was the short pool hours, not open early enough to swim before the parks and closing down too early to swim after if we stayed for any evening entertainment. My next trip is adults only and our favorite part of our "babysitter" day the last time we had a little adult time at WDW was swimming late at night, after all the kids were gone. I'm hoping this is still possible at the mods, and that the closing of all the pools (not just the main/theme pool) at night is a value thing?

What are my chances of getting connecting rooms? We have a reservation for AoA in a Cars suite for May, but I keep wondering if I'm going to miss CSR. We've stayed here 4 times and we love it, but we're taking our 2 adult sons with us and need a bed for everyone and more than 1 sink! If we stay at CSR, I'd like to have connecting, or at least adjacent rooms. OR, should I stay with AoA suite. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, as I'm totally on the fence.....:rolleyes1

I've heard quite often that connecting rooms can't be guaranteed at CSR. :(

I know it would just be a request, just wondering what others have found when requesting connecting OR adjoining rooms. I guess I just don't want them in the cabanas and our room in the ranchos. ;)

You could book preferred or Business class and at least be in the same building. ;)

Connecting rooms are not guaranteed anywhere at Disney. We are 50/50 at Beach Club for connecting rooms. CSR has connecting rooms in all buildings and all categories (except suites).

Like Jasperann said, your chances are better if you book business class (all in cabanas 9B) or preferred (only in casitas 1, 2 and 3). The front desk CMs at CSR will try to accommodate your request if it is available. Flexibility is key - the ranchos tend to the last to book up since they are more remote, and you might not want to be in ranchos 6A or 6B, but there would likely be more open rooms there than in cabanas 8A or casitas 4, which are two very popular buildings. Booking preferred or even water view gives them a bit more to work with since many people book standard.

The junior suites have two queen beds and a pullout - not sure how they compare pricewise to the AoA suite.

Thanks everyone, for your replies! We tried to book the junior suite with the 2 queens, but they were all booked. We really prefer the Ranchos area and have stayed there on 2 of our 4 visits, so I think I'll just take my chances with that area. We're checking in early so maybe that, along with booking the area not that many people request, we'll be OK....:p
