Wonder if the MB will work the entire time with the split stay? I've heard you need 2 sets though from the Dis.

I'm doing a spilt stay at AoA and CSR. I had already ordered my MBs for the AoA portion. When I went on MDE to check and see if they were available for CSR yet, it made me order another set of bands for the CSR portion of my stay. I had already made FP+ selections for my entire trip though because it had allowed me to do that when I booked AoA. So I'm wondering why I had to order another set of bands??? Anyone else doing a split stay that had to order two sets of bands???? I'm just paranoid that I've done something wrong. :upsidedow

From what I understand, if you're doing a split stay, you get a set of bands for each resort. We're staying at CSR for one night and then moving to BWV for the rest of our stay, and are getting two sets of bands. Oddly enough, I was able to customize our bands for BWV last night, and only just got the ability to customize the ones for CSR this morning. I guess CSR came online after BWV?

In any case, I'm excited! I was actually hoping we'd get to test the Magic Bands, and it's been kind of fun to play around with FP+. It's a little annoying to have to have two sets of bands, but it's not a big deal to us.

I just checked this morning and the set of MBs for CSR popped up (10/18-10/25) with only 5 days left to customize. :lmao: I could only do the POR at first, but that was the 2nd part of our stay. So now we have the 2 sets of bands. I think the room keys are linked to the MBs from what I have heard on the MB thread, so that is why 2 sets are need (seems wasteful to me though since you can supposedly still use the MB for "future" trips up to 2+ years, why not just "reload" whatever when you make the resort switch?) Probably something they will have to figure out for split stays... eventually...:lmao:

I too am worried something will go wrong or maybe DD or DS will grab the wrong band or something. So far they have also had KTTW backups though, but not sure for how long?

It seems like the magic bands here are for mid October. We arrive early October, Oct 2....was hoping to get some of these MB, they sounds awesome. Not sure if I should have hope or not.

Does anybody have a link to Buzz's website? I can't seem to get through from his user profile here.

I don't know if it has been posted yet or not, but my family was just able to trade our mugs that we received at check-in last week for the new Rapid Fill mugs. The CM at Cafe Rix said that the Rapid Fill program would begin tomorrow, Sunday.

I have 316 days to go, and just looked at the website you mentioned. I'm even more excited now!! DD and DS will love the beach areas!!

I have read about these and am still not understanding what they are, other than the obvious, mugs.?.

The mugs have RFID chips that limit your refills to one every two minutes (as the machines are currently set). Mug prices are based on your length of stay and can be used at any resort. Mugs are activated at the time of purchase.

I hope this helps!

Ahh. Thanks for the explanation. Guess they are cracking down on cheaters.

They're trying. But that's not stoping some people from inserting paper cups into the mugs and switching them out quickly so the flow doesn't stop.

So this morning I linked all our passes onto the MDE and then was able to get all our fasspasses...yea!!!

It appears to only dispense the number of ounces that the mug will hold. (We transferred from Coronado to Beach Club this morning and have been using the mugs there.)

From a trip report on a different board (he stayed at POR):

People are still cheating with the cups. I saw one person put paper cups on top of his RFID cup. He was fast and kept swapping in more and more paper cups (so it kept flowing without making him wait between refills). He must have filled about 5 of them. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Me again. Maybe CSR's machines only fill a certain amount? Maybe the poster was referring to a purchased beverage, not a refillable mug?

My GF and I are checking in on Sept 29th and are showing no features at all.
no fastpass+ and no MBs stinks..

wondering if we should have chosen another resort after reading a bunch here and on other guidebooks.

Clarify something else for us as well. The cups are only usable while at the hotel??
seems like kinda a goofy thing.. who spends that much time at the hotel? All of our time minus sleeping will be at the parks.
