After seeing the awesome Pepper Market Brrakfast Menu, was wondering if anyone could share their knowledge of the lunch menu?

Thanks!

:tink:

We thought lunch was much better than breakfast.

They had a Mexican station with 5 or 6 choices

Really good rotisserie chicken

Salad bar including a really good BLT salad

A carving station with some type of roasted beef. It looked good but was too rare for me so the guy put it on the grill for me and it was good!

Yummy mashed potato

A few kid choices (nuggests ,Mac& Cheese)

Lots of desserts (yummy strawberry shortcake)
Hand dipped ice cream

I am sure some other choices too.

I just changed my reservations of Coronado! I have wanted to for a long time stay here, but with free dining we couldn't get in (we leave in less than two weeks!). We are in the "regular" rooms. I am trying to figure out this place and figure out my way around!

Here are pictures I took the week the buffet opened. A couple things have changed but for the most part it's the same.

i know the information I am looking for is in this thread somewhere but I didnt know if things have changed. I am hoping that someone will be able to explain to me how the pepper market works. I have eatten at other cs places however I hear that they actually seat you and you are supposed to tip? I leave in less than a week and I just want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I get to the hotel and everyone in my party starts looking at me for guidance. I dunno what I am doing in this situation....eek! Please help!

The Pepper Market changed back in December.

Breakfast and lunch are now a buffet. You go to the podium to get seated. You will have a server who will get your drinks, hand you the bill, and you pay the server for the meal. Tips are optional and may be left on the table or if paying by credit card can be added to the bill. At breakfast and lunch, your server gets the full tip you leave. As for food, you go to each station. Some items are self serve and some are served by cm.

At dinner time, you check in at the podium. Dinner is ala carte. You will be handed a ticket that gets stamped for each item you get. You go up to the station, tell the cm what you would like, they stamp your ticket and hand you the food. A server will get your drinks for you. At the end, you go up to the register yourself with your ticket and pay for your meal. If you are a cash paying customer, a 10% service charge will be automatically added to your bill. If you are on the DDP, the service charge will not be added and you are to leave your tip at the table. The dinner time tip is pooled. At the end of the evening the pool is split among servers and other staff.

Hope that helps, and hope I got it right!

:thumbsup2 Well said! :goodvibes That's how I understand the process, too, although I haven't been to the buffet yet.

Thanks for the veggie info. Do they keep the buffet up if you come in it at 2 p.m.? Or do they stop serving at 2?

(By the way, thank for the food pics. The one with the guy hiding his face cracks me up :) )

If they make the buffet available at dinner, do you think the price will be the same as breakfast and lunch? It looks great, thanks for the photos. We don't do the dining plan, because we usually eat breakfast in the room, so we will save our money and appetites for dinner!

They close promptly at 2pm. A gate goes down at the entrance and very shortly after 2 they stop serving food.

That guy is a riot. He is in a bunch of my pictures, since he seems to work when I am there eating. He is very personable, don't let the hand fool you.

I asked about the rumor for dinner and as of now it's just a rumor. Presently, they have no plans to change. They will continue for now with the breakfast and lunch buffet and ala carte for dinner.

Thank you i really appreciate your help!

I dont know why they just cant keep it like other counter service meals at the other resorts. Sometimes I dont want to be waited on...plus im a vegetarian and my order can be somewhat complicated ya know

The Pepper Market has always had to be different, lol. Even from the start it wasn't the same. Our first stay was shortly after it opened and I remember the tickets from back then too, and the servers. There was no Cafe Rix back then. There was a lounge and a small grab and go.

Yet another Pepper Market buffet question... can you take your meal to go like you used to at the Pepper Market? I assume no, now that it is a buffet. We used to like to take our food outside. At the buffet are the only drink choices soda? I like to get a bottle of water. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. (Maybe he's a secret agent! :cool2: )

We ate there 4 different times now. The first being when they first opened and the last being on Sunday. In the beginning the answer was yes, but on our most recent visit the answer was no. It doesn't hurt to ask during your stay, but I'd say don't count on being able to get lunch there to go.

Bottled water is not a choice, but tap water is. I am very picky about water and the tap water at the Pepper Market isn't sulfur and chlorine tasting like the tap water in the parks. The beverage choices were sodas, coffee, tea, apple juice, milk, chocolate milk, and I think orange juice.

I apologize if this has been asked... but does the pepper market count as a CS or TS credit (for the breakfast or lunch) on the DDP?

Thanks!
Charlene
