Thats awesome you got all your rooms together like that!! Probably wasn't easy for them to arrange with all the people that request Cabanas. I agree Panchitos is probably the best store of any of the Mod resorts. Sounds like the trip would have been perfect if they weren't training 20 new bus drivers that week! ;)

At LEAST 20...all on the CSR route. ;) It was darn near perfect. I was stunned that they were able to give us our requests.

Just back from my second stay at CSR (with the kids in April, now with dh). I put in a room request the first time, which I got (Cabanas top floor), and left it to chance the second time, assuming they'd dump me in Ranchos. No so! We had a corner room in Casitas 4 and the view was definitely lakefront, even though I only paid for a standard room. I did online check-in both times but messed up the second time somehow, so the room was not assigned until after we arrived.

Question: What is a reasonable time to expect the room to be cleaned? We came back fromm the parks at 2:30 and I was a bit disappointed that it had not been cleaned already. Mousekeeping showed up about a half hour later but we told her not to worry about it. Just wondering if I expected too much.

One day our room wasn't cleaned until 4, think they say they'll do it before 4:30pm

DH and I got back from our 8-day stay at CSR (and my first at WDW) on Saturday.

When we arrived about 10:30 a.m. On Sat, 5/12, the registration area was chaotic. We finally were brought up to the desk and the cast member we had was cordial at best. At first she couldn't find our reservation. I had to spell my last name 3 times (my name is not difficult). Then she said there was a room ready for us in Ranchos section. I looked at my husband and said i didn't want to stay there because it was too far. She said to hold on and she would check. About 20 minutes go by and she said there might be one in Casitas 4 - so we waited some more and finally just gave up and took Ranchos 7b (room 7545 to be exact). I even made references to her that it was my first time to WDW and my honeymoon and she didn't crack a smile. Another cast member who overheard me gave us Happily Ever After buttons as she walked by us. As we walked to our room, the resort was so beautiful. We ended up liking the room location. The only sucky things were being next to the elevator and hearing the "ding" every time the doors opened and whoever was above us had a very rambunctious child who liked to run around alot and jump off the bed. We could also seevthe quiet pool from our window. All in all, it was not that far of a walk to El Centro and we preferred bus stop 1 anyway.

The room itself was nice. No towel animals through our stay. I took some Clorox wipes and everything I wiped down was clean. I did Lysol all handles and the TV remote though.

We ate 1 breakfast and 2 lunches at Rix Cafe. It wad good, though not much selection. We had dinner once at Pepper Market. I didn't really care for it.

We used the pool and the hot tub at the dig site - it was very nice.

Panchitos has a great selection of souvenirs, but not much specific to the resort (only saw pins).

We walked around a lot at night and found it very nice and relaxing.

DH used the health club and got a massage - he said it was nice.

During one of our walks, we walked by Casitas 4 and I kicked myself a little bit for not waiting to see if we could have got that one - DOH!!!

Despite the positives, I don't think I'll ever stay there again. If I ever make it back, I'd like to try Pop Century or Art of animation. Especially if we have kids- I wanna feel like I'm in WDW.

That's why we like to check in on a Wednesday about 5pm. :) usually only a handful checking in at that time!

We got put in Ranchos 7B our first stay at CSR as well. Our initial reaction was the same as yours, but we ended up liking he location. A nice room overlooking he quiet pool. However Casitas 4 is our favorite and first choice, had a great room there last time!

so funny! got back 2 weeks ago. we requested 7B!!! couldn't get it!

we had stayed in cabanas , first floor, steps from the quiet pool, casitas 5, and casitas 3 (before it was preferred) dream room overlooking the lagoon.
hubby always loved the loks of the ranchos quiet pool we have no kids with us and like a quiet pool..

it took an hour, then they finally got us a 7b room, but on the edge by the parking lot. we trudged over with our carryons, in our jeans to change into suits by the quiet pool, and wiat for the room to be ready..

I looked around the building.. hubby's back had gone out the day before our trip.. everything was just too far. so I left him and went trudging all the way back to El Centro ( I had had 2 hours sleep) and wanted to change rooms.

a very nice manager decided to give us a ground floor room in Cabana 8a. there were only 4 rooms closer to the dig site than us! and they gave us a water view!

it was great!( but I really miss the table with 2 chairs!)
and we were very close to the ranchos quiet pool, which is very pretty!!!!

Yeah, I agree. Love the look around the Ranchos quiet pool. We always pay for a waterview room. Along with loving my waterviews I find it gives me a little more negotiating power in asking for the room I want.

I was just at CSR May 5th-12th with a friend. We got back to the room one day about 2:30 also, to find the room not yet done. My friend decided to go to the pool to swim and read and I decided to take a nap. After she left, I put the 'Do Not Disturb' sign in the door, read a few minutes, then apparently dozed off forgetting to shut the curtains. About 4:00pm I heard a tapping on the window that almost scared me to death. I jumped up and the housekeeper was there peeking in and tapping on the window. She asked if I wanted the room cleaned and I shook my head no. I was a little irritated though that even with the Do Not Disturb' sign in the door, she was peeking in the window, saw me asleep, and tapped on the window to wake me up.

Hi all! We're at CSR right now - in fact I'm sitting by the lake just outside Cafe Rix. I'm thinking I might have to do a trip report but wanted to give my impressions of the resort so far. We flew in on Saturday and our flight arrived at MCO at 1:15 pm. We have two little kids with us (5 and 2 years old) so it took we didn't get down to Magical Express until 1:45. Check in with them, however, was very fast since we had our vouchers with us. The nice thing about CSR, from what I can tell, is that they use the guests as "filler" for the buses since it's the first stop. We only waited 2 minutes and were directed to a bus. By 2:30 we were at the resort.

The resort was busy and I wound up waiting about 5 minutes to pick up my things for online check-in. I had requested Cabanas but was given ground floor Ranchos - 6147 to be exact. This worked out nicely, though. It's a bit of a hike to get to El Centro but we're very close to parking and the Dig Site.

Bus service has been okay. We waited 5 minutes for a DHS bus yesterday but it took us 45 minutes for a bus for our dinner ADRs on Monday. :scared1: It took us almost a hour and 15 minutes total. DH and I want to stay at the CR next time we come because of it's location to MK since we like to come back to the room during the hottest part of the day. If we can't swing deluxe prices at that time, though, we'll definately be back at CSR.

Hi andie. We're here as well in the cabanas. The bus thing is the luck of timing. We haven't waited for any buses longer than 10 mins. The only sro bus we've ha is leaving the studios after fantastic.

I haven't ever stayed at Coronado Springs before. I understand that it is host to a lot of conventions. I was wonderig if conventions are likely since that is a holiday week?
I am hoping to book our vacation for Thankgiving and am considering CSR as our resort. We have two children ages 13 & (almost) 4. And hubby has asked that we pick a resort with larger beds, so CSR fits the bill.
Any recommendations for room choice with children? :)

We leave in 2 weeks! I'm starting to have nightmares that CSR overbooked and we are bumped to a different hotel. I've heard this has happened, but is it common? We paid for a preferred rooom and are checking in on a Thurs. I'm hoping that will not happen, or I'll tell them to put me at a monorail resort!!:rotfl:

This rarely happens. But anytime I've heard of it happening the people end up in a deluxe resort in a nicer room at no charge. So I think this would be a dream not a nightmare! :)

We are also checking in in two weeks, I apologize in advance for the noise...lol:dance3:

I'm so excited! We'll be at CSR in 17 days!!!

Some history: We were all set to book our our trip, buying everything seperately as that was going to be the most economical (airfair through SW, park tickets through another site, and room through WDW) then I received a free dining plan pin code so the decision was made to book a package through WDW to be able to take advantage of the pin code.

At the time we booked, the only thing available was the POR - Royal Guest Room and I was thrilled and immediately booked. Then about two weeks after booking our budget started getting tighter and we decided to check availability at a value resort to save money. So with a heavy heart we booked at Pop and gave up the royal room.

Fast forward a few months and budget looked better, not to mention manfriend was never thrilled with Pop because although it's nicely themed and has the better reviews of the value resorts, the bed/room size, pools and overall grounds were lacking. We have 4 kiddos ranging in age from 10-15 and knew the pool would be important. So I called WDW and basically said I want my old room back :headache: and the response was sorry, no availability at any moderates using your pin code...

And that's been the same response everyday for the last 7 weeks... at least until yesterday when lo and behold, there was availability at CSR in a preferred room!!! :woohoo:

So now comes the fun part... we're booked for a preferred room which I've read as being in either Casitas 1, 2 or 3. But looking at the property map, I'm thinking I'd prefer a room in the cabanas area, building 9. We'd like to be close to the main building and bus stops, but the Dig Site pool is of more interest so that seems to be the best spot... is that right? Am I being dumb to move away from the preferred buildings? Would love to hear your advice...

thanks everyone!

DH & I are planning a "just us" trip next February and I'm thinking about CS in a king bed room. Do you all think this is a good choice for a couple's trip?

I would say that out of the Mod resorts CSR would definitely be the choice for that! Spa/fitness center, night club style lounge, and beautiful too!

Not dumb at all. I have stayed in Casitas 1 and Casitas 2 (prior to them being designated as preferred rooms). I have also stayed in all four of the Cabana buildings. I like the Casitas, but love the location of the Cabanas (close to main pool, fairly close to main building, and more white sand beaches and hammocks). According to the CMs Cabanas 8a is the most requested building, so I was surprised when they made Casitas 1, 2, and 3 the preferred buildings.:confused3 I guess the Casitas do look prettier and more expensive, but no way would I pay for a preferred room over there. Now if they had made Cabanas 8a or 9B preferred, I'd have no problem paying more to ensure I got in those buildings. I've stayed at CSR ten times now (just got back May 5th-12th) and have always booked a standard room. I detest the Ranchos though. The only way I'd book a preferred room at CSR would be to ensure I avoided that section, but even then I doubt if I really would. I'm willing to take the chance to get my beloved Cabanas.

Just FYI: not all rooms in Casitas 1, 2, or 3 are good rooms. If you do decide to keep your preferred room, make sure they don't stick you way up on the top floor of Casitas 2 (facing the parking lot). That's what they call 'No Man's Land'. That building is the only one that does not have an elevator and rooms on the back side on the very top floor are very hard to get to. I once had a king room up there and could not believe I had paid extra for such a lousy parking lot view, that I had a hard time getting to. The choices to get up to that room were either walking around the building (down next to the quiet pool) then walking up four flights of stairs, then around to the other side of the building or to walk all the way around to the lake side of building 3, take the elevator to the top, walk across the walkway that connects building 2 and building 3, then walk all the way around the building to the back side, then walk down to the end of building 2.:faint: It was easier to just walk up the four flights of stairs. I can't believe that room would now be considered a Preferred King room. lol

That cheered me up! We are checking in next Wednesday at 5pm :goodvibes
