2 more sleeps until we leave on our vacation and 3 sleeps to Disney! :cool1:

I look at my list of things that need to get done today and tomorrow, and I just can't see *how* I can possibly get them done!! :scared1:

But ohh I'm excited now! :woohoo:

Hi everyone. Just got back from our split-stay at the CSR and the BLT. Thought I would post a quick review here and a more expansive one later. We arrived on Aug 29 at 1:00pm. Our rooms were ready and were assigned Casitas 5 Room number 5140/5141 (I think). We had connecting rooms overlooking the fountain. At night, the fountain was lit up and really pretty.
Great location - close to bus stop #2, quiet, 7 min walk to the Dig Site. The rooms were clean, spacious, and the beds very comfortable. We were concerned that since we usually stay at the CR, we might not enjoy the CSR as much. I am happy to report, that we liked this resort a lot. The rooms are very similar to the CR in decoration. The CMs at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The lobby was beautiful and Panchitos had a wonderful selection of merchandise. We only ate the Pepper Market one time, but the food was plentiful and good. It is a little confusing (especially with 6ppl) in our group, but I think after you figure out the procedures, it is a really good option. The servers were really exceptional too, and since we were on the dining plan, we made sure to tip them since we found out the tip was not already added. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the Dig Site. We ordered nachos and snacks at the pool and they were delicious!! Since we had a car, we only used the buses for MK. The buses were great. The longest we waited for a bus was 15min leaving MK in the middle of the afternoon. :)
One thing I noticed about the CSR is how centrally located it is to all of the parks. We drove to AK and DHS and it was not more than 5-7min to the parking lots!!!
One thing to keep in mind. While we were there, they were painting the outside of the buildings in Casitas 5. Most of the work was being done during the day so it did not bother us too much, but there were "wet paint" signs present.
All in all, we had a great time at the CSR. I would have to say it is my new
2nd favorite. The CR is still my favorite because of location, size of rooms, and everything being in the tower, but the CSR is a close 2nd. I can wholeheartedly recommend this resort to everyone and know they will have a great time - WE DID!!!:yay:

YAY, KATMARK!!! There's nothing like a CSR/WDW vacation to help with recuperation!

Thank you. :goodvibes:goodvibes

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: Have a great time!

Thanks, Aubriee (we've missed you around here). I can't believe at this time next week, I'll be leaving the Studios and heading to the Dig Site. :)

I am so HAPPY that you enjoyed your stay at the CSR. :) Thank you so much for coming back and posting your review--I know everyone appreciates your doing so. I can't wait to be "home" next week.

Down to single digits for us. 9 days and counting. :)

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for single digits. Hope to see you while we are there.

We recently had our first family trip to WDW, and we had an awesome stay at CSR. Thanks KatMark for this thread, you were a HUGE help in us picking CSR and planning our vacation.

Our only problem came with check in. We got there around 11 ish, and I did online check in. There were only 2 families in front of us in line, and we still had to wait 40 minutes before someone waited on us. My only request was no Ranchos, and preferably Cabanas. The CM told me we would be in Cabanas 8b, but our room wasn't ready yet, and that was no big deal because we were going to Epcot first anyway. A few minutes after I left the front desk, I got a text saying to go to the front desk to get my room number. They then told me I'm in the Ranchos. I told them that was the only place I did not want to stay in, and I was already promised 8b, but this new CM told me that can't happen. After 20 minutes or so, they told us they would text us when our room was ready. Which they did around 1-2 pm or so, and it was for Cabanas 8b, so we got what we wanted. It just took an hour waiting at the front desk to get it.

We LOVED our building. It was steps away from bus stop 4 and the Dig Site. Since we have two boys, ages 5 and 3, this location was perfect for us. It was a bit of a walk to El Centro, but we didn't go there much, and even then, the walk wasn't a big deal. We ate at Pepper Market twice and Maya Grill once, and loved our meals each time.

We had a wonderful stay, and would love to stay at CSR again!

Thanks for the review. Sorry about the long wait at registration (I wonder if they are letting more people go?). But it sounds like other than that you had a great trip. I'm glad your boys enjoyed the pool -- it is an awesome pool.

We just got back from CSR yesterday. We did online check in and we got to the resort around 2:00 and waited about 5 minutes to get our KTTW cards, our room was ready, and we got the building we requested Cabana 8A. We had a smoker in the group and they wanted to move closer to a smoking area after the first day because it was a long walk to smoke, so we called and they gave us a room in Cabana 8B which not any closer. So we went to the front desk and asked them if we could have a room in 9A where the smoking area was, they gave us a room directly behind the smoking area ! They were very polite and kind about our smokers problem and all the changing lol. The CM's were very helpful.
The first few days we were wondering if there were anyone else staying there because we hardly seen anyone, then towards the end of the week we began seeing more people. There was suppose to be a convention going on but I couldnt tell because we only seen 2 people wearing suits.
The pool and hot tub was great, we loved the water slide. There was'nt that many people in the pool area in the evening when we would go swimming but maybe around 20. During the heat of the day there were more but not crowded.
The bus service was super quick, we never had to wait no more then 5 minutes except one time and it was about a 10 minute wait for a bus. The bus was almost always aready there on our ride back to the resort except maybe once and it was only about a 5 minute wait.
We only ate at the Pepper Market and it is a bit confusing the first time but you get the hang of it. I liked the food slections and with the free dining we could get a large pizza using one quick service credit which was enough for all of us. I couldnt believe one person could use their quick service for a large pizza. They had large and single serve pizza's, the first time I got a single serve and when I went to pay I saw a guy buying a large and the cashier said oh you can get your dessert with that also. So the next night I got us all a large pizza ! I liked all the food that I bought with my quick service credits at ther Pepper Market and it was more then enough to fill me up.
The Pepper Market got a bit busy after the parks closed in the evening but not bad.
The only thing I did not like about CSR is the walking, well I mean after walking all day in the parks my feet and legs were wearing out lol.
We saw alot of wild life, rabbits, frogs, squirrels, turtles, lots of fish, those little lizard things lol and birds. We did not see any gators and we looked and looked.:confused3

This time next week we wil be waiting for the shuttle to pick us up and take us to Sydney Airport.......can't wait. Only 7 sleeps until we leave.

Thank you for all of the reviews!

In 48 hours, we should be boarding the plane!! :woohoo:

Yesterday I organized a lot of stuff, today is laundry day, and tomorrow we pack. After all of this waiting (we booked this trip as a BB last August), it's hard to believe that our vacation is almost here. :goodvibes

I love hearing from everyone who just got back. I'm glad that everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed CSR. It makes me even more excited to be returning!

You're waiting until the day before to pack?? I just know I will be SO excites I will have my bags packed a week in advance! :lmao::banana:

Have a great trip!

LOL! I really do need to wait until I get the laundry done today before packing, and today I'll pack just about everything except clothes. I'm excited!

In response to Kathy wondering if they are letting people go:

I don't think they are letting people go, I think they just aren't scheduling as many people to work (esp. last week) b/c my cousin (who works at CSR) said they are SOOOOO slow. She said something about the resort only being 40% full.
