Coronado Springs Resort -- New Unofficial FAQ Thread -- November 2009

I hope someone here has been on the dining plan while staying at CSR. I have, and I encountered something unusual (or so I thought at the time). I was just wondering if the confusion concerning drinks with meals has been rested. Here's what happened:

On our day of arrival, just after checking in, we stopped by Rix and purchased refillable mugs. (We had purchased the REGULAR dining plan which does not come with the refillable mugs.) Since it was 1 o'clock and we had not eaten, our next stop was Pepper Market. We were seated, with full refillable mugs in tow, and we browsed the menu. When I tried to order a round of bottled water for all 3 of us, we were told that, since we had refillable mugs, we would not be allowed to order bottled water with our meals as part of the dining plan and that it would cost extra. From that point on, we did not bring our mugs with us to the Pepper Market and we had no problems getting bottled water with our meals.:confused3 Has anyone else ever encountered this?

Water is not included as something you can get in the refillable mug. I don't know if the server was thinking that you wanted the mug refilled or if she knew you wanted it as part of your dining plan, though. I was disappointed that the mug didn't include water. That's all I drink and I would have bought the mug for water but not for Coke or coffee so I didn't get one.

You were unable to get water in the refillable mug? I find that confusing as I keep reading everywhere hear that people ask for water all over the parks and get it in a cup for free. Why could they not just put the water in your refillable mug?

I'm leaning toward NOT getting a refillable mug because I don't want our family drinking lots of pop. And my husband & I are not coffee drinkers. Now, if we were allowed MILK and juice - I'd purchase them in a heartbeat!

While we are on the refillable mug topic. What do they have on tap now?

I'm hoping they still have that non-carbonated sports drink and caffine-free diet coke.

I just wanted to say, thank you to KatMark. We just returned and I will give a more detailed overview, but I wanted to at least say we enjoyed the resort very much. Room was great, walking the resort was enjoyable, pools/playground were great, Rix Cafe food was good (not amazing but good), we never waited long for buses nor were they full (we used Bus Stop 1 - which is the last stop) and husband & I both had a massage while there and both really enjoy it and the people working in the Salon/Spa. Overall - it was a great resort for us. Like I said I'll give more detail later, but we'll go back to CSR.

Welcome home! I'm so glad that you and your husband enjoyed your stay at the CSR. We all can't wait to read more about your trip. :)

Go to page #81 post #1204 to see a recent picture. I wish they had the lemonade and caffine free diet coke!!

Thanks,
I see that they have nestea ice tea but does anyone know if they have a unsweetened iced tea?

Thanks for all who have posted info. DH, DS(10), DS(6) and myself will be making our first trip to Disney World in Aug. All of us will be there the 4th through 11th, they are flying back and I am staying for the Tupperware convention until the 14th. Loving all the info. Thanks.

We will be at the CSR very very soon, and the girlfriend and I intend to take advantage of the $50 coupon and get twin massages. Did you have a massuesse (sp?) who was particularly good that you would recommend? Please tell us about your experience. I must confess, the photos on the Disney website are not particularly appealing.

We have done the dining plan three of our last four visits and never had ethis issue--they always refilled our mugs and gave us a drink beside. I wonder if you had a new server who didn't know the rules or if they changed them? I'm curious to see what ahnyone else had happen.

AWESOME! I'm thinking this happened to us because, at the time of that particular trip, the QS dining plan was new. New things always bring about a fair share of confusion. As I said earlier, we were on the regular dining plan, not the QS dining plan. I'm hoping it will work for us as it has worked for you! THANKS! :)

:lmao:OK people.....

NO. I was not wanting bottled water INSIDE my refillable mug. :rotfl: The mugs were a part of my story because they were visibly sitting out on our dining table at the time we placed our drink orders. Because the mugs were on the table, the server did not want to give us a BOTTLE of water each to be included with our regular dining plan QS meal. QS meals come with a drink. The presence of the mugs seemed to confuse our server, so we left them behind when dining at PM thereafter.:upsidedow

ahh, makes sense. I must have been really confused that I couldn't read what you wrote correctly. :rotfl:

My husband and I had different people. For myself, I don't remember her name off hand, but I will find it for you. She was very sweet and I would recommend her. The front desk was very nice. The spa is nothing to write home about. There is nothing fancy about it, but for a $65 massage - in my opinion, I think it was a good deal. To give you my perspective - I get massages every visit to Vegas at Canyon Ranch or the Spa at Encore - those are $150 - $250 massages and you get the fanciness with it (warm bed, pretty rooms, spa robes, etc). This is not that kind of place. But for the money, you can't go wrong. Especially after a long day at one of the parks.

Agreed. I have had massages at the MGM and the Venetian in Vegas, as well as the Grand Floridian at Disney (I would never go back to the GF). You get the royal treatment there -- robes, use of the facilities (sauna, etc.), warm bed, etc. I also go every two or three months to the local spa here (Mario Tricocci) and get a massage (I just got one yesterday); while you don't get the robes at MT, you do get the warm bed, use of the sauna, etc.. At the CSR, it is just two separate rooms where you go in and have the massage. However, I find it well worth the price to ease the aches and pains midway through our trip.

If you want all of the "extras", then I would go with the spa at the Saratoga Springs.

I know that water is included in the QS dining plan since that's all I drink and just got back 3 weeks ago and had the dinning plan. But it seems like the server didn't know this and was confused with your mug sitting there. That's all I was saying.

Hi, we are looking at booking CSR next year, instead of our favorite POFQ - the gym / health center is a major selling point for us at CSR . . . can anyone tell me if there is a charge to use it, if you are staying there?

Thanks!!:goodvibes

No, there is no charge to use the gym if you are staying at the resort. You can, actually, get 24/7 access by arranging it with the front desk.

Lovely thanks! I have all good intentions now, but doubt we'll end up going!!!!:rotfl2:

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to decide between a couple different resorts (CSR, POR) for our honeymoon and wondered if all of the rooms at CSR had been upgraded like the ones in the first post. I love the new decor but am afraid of getting stuck in an older room.

Thanks in advance!

The gym is pretty nice too! Way better in person than in the online pics :goodvibes
We got lucky enough to get Casitas 3 so we were right next to the gym, quiet pool, and laundry. Casitas 4, or 5 are close to it too..just FYI
