Thank you everyone for the warm wishes and prayers for my brother and family. Unfortunately, he is not improving. He is still in critical condition. He's on a ventilator and he has an enlarged heart and degenerative heart disease; also, the right muscle of his heart is completely shot and there is nothing they can do for it. He is currently being sedated because he got very incoherent and confused (they are thinking it was a lack of oxygen to his brain). They need to get him calm before they can proceed with any heart treatments.

Hi! This is the first I've been on the Dis since we got home Saturday. Had a wonderful trip and can't wait to go back. CSR is beautiful! Found out our house needs a new roof ASAP right before we left (literally...like Friday), so it did darken my mood at times, as I'm fairly certain we wouldn't have taken our trip had we known... But, otherwise, it was wonderful.

Oh, yes, and I can now answer people's questions about the Disney transportation system, as it relates to staying at CSR and also dispel some other "myths" about the resort.

We had a beautiful, lake-view room in Casitas 4, which I thought was a nice location. Not too far from El Centro and not too far from the pool. And a short walk after my massage at the fitness center, which was good, because that led directly into a four hour nap!

We were closest to Bus Stop 2, which was awesome because we were the first on and, even more important to me, the first off the bus coming home. I don't think we ever waited for more the ten minutes for a bus and the rides were short. The rides to Epcot and DHS were especially quick.

As far as it being a convention hotel, I think that's actually kind of nice. There were far fewer people on the CSR busses than those of the other resorts and the pool was never super crowded (granted it never hit 70 while we there, but still...). The couple of convention guests I spoke to were super nice.

Everything was very clean and we didn't use mousekeeping most days, but when we did, it was fine. Bedding was all spotless and I LOVED the duvet covers, as the old-style comforters many hotels still have are so icky.

I wanted to check out POFQ one afternoon, so my DH and I took the bus from there to Epcot and I have to say that the ride took forever, since the busses are shared with Riverside, which seemed HUGE.

The Dig Site is great, particuarly the slide and the giant hot tub. Wish we could have used it more, but the temps just weren't there...we pushed it anyway, but it was COLD!

So glad I chose CSR! Thanks again, Kathy.

I would keep trying. They often block rooms for the convention groups and then release them and people are always cancelling. Perhaps book somewhere else and then keep checking at the CSR.

And to all of the other posters, your prayers mean the world to me and my entire family. My brother had more problems develop overnight so he is definitely far from being out of the woods and we are now in a wait and see period until they can sort it out and see what can be done for him.

I just checked the convention dates and there is one but ends the day before we arrive. So no conventions. I am nervous that I am too late. I never thought mid august would be sold out this early. Have always gone in august and never had trouble getting a room.

Arriving in 26 days! Just want to double check with any recent CSR-goers, is the shampoo and conditioner still in separate bottles, or is it a combined shampoo/conditioner type bottle?

I've been getting conflicting reports if PM is now charging gratuity/service charge on top of DDP credits. We are in the beginning stages of planning out next trip and this info will definitely impact where we stay. Anyone recently back who can speak to this?

Boy...I hope that's not true...as the Pepper Market was one of my families favorite things about the CSR.

Yes, unfortunately, the 10% is NO longer included on the dining plan. The only way to avoid it is to ask for a "to go" ticket and eat at one of the tables outside under the awning or one of the tables by the lake or in you rroom.

Well boo. Getting a "to go" ticket with a family of 5 and three under 6 just does not sound like fun. Back to the resort drawing board....

Don't know what your dates are but I found room for the end of Aug 22 through to the 4 of sept had standard room availlable still. Hope that helps some.

Bummer...

Probably more to do with the DDP not wanting to "settle the tab"...than the Pepper Market. Though I never was certain why the PM thinks they need to charge a gratuity anyway?

I know many of our meals totaled $70-$80 bucks thanks to WDW prices...so that's another $8 in gratuity. While I'd still probably go there...I'll be getting the the ToGo Ticket...or not go as often.

Absolutely! We've been there late September/early October a couple of times and we have always enjoyed the weather. However, with the so-called global warming...you never know what may happen.
