So it looks like CSR is being opened up to ceremonies now does anyone know of anyone or have any pictures of wedding events done at CSR? The virtual venue tour does not even have it on there to look at but they show it as a picture when you go to receptions page.

Ok that is freaking awesome! I wonder if I can do my reception and ceremony in the courtyard that would be fantastic! I love it!

Casitas Courtyard is treated like any other outdoor venue, with the only additional restriction being that events must end by 9pm. They usually do it like in the photos: ceremony on the grass, reception on the cement. Disney doesn't publicize it much because most couples switch to another location when they realize the venue is completely surrounded by guest rooms and public walkways. But they sure do make it look appealing in photos!

I dont mind the ceremony in the grass I actually think that is rather gorgeous and it won't take much decorating at all which is nice I really like the wooden chairs and the simplicity of the whole thing. I am going to have a bridal party and I want to still do music so I wonder how to accomplish this there. I would not have the ceremony outside because my centerpieces are supposed to be like glowing lightsabers so we need a ballroom or the dance hall.

thanks for all the pictures :)

Disney can set up a sound system at outdoor locations (in fact, they recommend it) for music and amplifying the officiant and the groom. Prices vary by location—it could be a couple hundred dollars or it could be a thousand. Your consultant can get you a quote. :thumbsup2

Isn't Yacht Club Gazebo surrounded by guest rooms as well?

Ahhh that'd probably be it then :) I originally fell in love with the Gazebo but didn't like the fact only the bride, groom and officiant can fit in the Gazebo, with a small intimate wedding I didn't want my guests on the outside, so changed to Sea Breeze Point - my change didn't actually have anything to do with the hotel surrounding the Gazebo, weird huh

We just had our 20th anniversary vow renewal at the Coronado. It was a beautiful location. All our guests also loved it. We had a noon ceremony with reception following. Since it was in the middle of the day there were few hotel guests around, we saw hardly anyone and it was very private. The set up was gorgeous, we copied the photo shoot and it was just stunning. It was October so the trees were in bloom. We couldn't have chosen a better outdoor venue. We wanted something different for our20th and saw the photo on the venue tour last year then requested more photos. It is a quiet area during the day. We were their first 'real' wedding they had there. The pics on the website are a photo shoot. The photographers loved it as it is colorful, different and fun. We have stunning pics. We highly recommend it. We ended up using chiavari chairs as the cute wooden ones were all in use that day. They looked wonderful as well. We did a mariachi band for entertainment as well as having Mickey and Minnie join us. We highly recommend it!

Forgot a few things. We had 35 guests. It easily would have held another 10-15 people no problem. It is very private as even though it is by public walkways, the courtyard is set back a bit and has bushes blocking the main 'drag'. I only saw one guest walking behind our event during our entire party. They really set it up well so you don't notice much besides your party. Beautiful location. Everyone that came commented on how wonderful the location was. The tablecloths are simply GORGEOUS!

Anyone heard of any other locations being used at CSR? I think the La Mesa Patio looks beautiful (I could only find one picture of it online!)

I'm not thinking ceremony or reception, more like welcome brunch or something ;)

Just reviving this thread in the hopes there is some new info out there!

Looking to see if there are guest limits, venue rental fees, etc. Also looking for pics of the ballroom maybe??

I'm right there with you. It's silly, but I want to change from the Boardwalk Inn Croquet Lawn to Coronado Springs because of the way the Coronado Springs rooms will look in pictures. The Boardwalk isn't our style, but I wanted an outdoor courtyard. I emailed my wedding consultant today and hopefully will hear back from her tomorrow, she's really good about that.

I'm really hoping it's still available and it works out. I will post on this thread when I find anything.

Does CSR have to be booked through DFTW? Im interested in having my ceremony there but it doesn't offer it on the DFTW site

You can book Rix Lounge and Las Ventanas through the company that manages CSR, but if you want the Casitas Courtyard you have to go through DFTW. There are a lot of places they don't mention on their website. ;) They don't really feature Casitas Courtyard because they found that most people they offered it to thought it was too public for a wedding.

I have the Casitas Courtyard as our "penciled" in ceremony location for our wedding. Since it isn't super popular I am hoping we won't have any trouble getting it booked when it's time for our contract.

This is exactly why I veered away from a Swan wedding. I really don't like the way the hotel looks as a wedding backdrop. I like the Crescent Terrace photos I've seen, but not the ones on the beach with the hotel in the background.

I like it as far as art deco goes, but it clashes with the feel I want for my wedding. The pictures will be forever so I need to be sure. I'm planning on combing the entire place for venues when I go down this September before I make a final choice. Our date is in June 2015, so we have some time to decide, but definitely no later than September - I don't want to lose our date (which is important).

I'll be checking our CSR now, too. I didn't like staying there because it took forever to walk anywhere in the hot sun, but its a gorgeous resort.
