WL would be standard view room. CSR either preferred or tower. Concerns about CSR: tower bathroom setup and possibly cheer and dance groups-trying to find April 2024 dates for cheer/dance.

We would like a nice pool & slide and quick rides to the parks. CSR is buses but they don't share and the resort is in a good location. WL has the MK boat but I believe they share with another resort to get to the parks.

Any insight from those who have stayed at both? Will have teenagers

Don’t give CSR buses any points over WL. CSR may not share but it has 4 stops at the hotel. WL/CR shared bus (that was the combo when I stayed last year anyway) is only 2 stops. Transport edge goes to WL due to the MK boat.

I think WL has a nicer pool but I can’t speak to comparing the CSR/WL slides. I love how the stream inside the WL lobby flows all the way down to become part of the pool. Visually beautiful.

I love GDT but with teenagers plural I would want a bathroom with the sinks outside.

Thanks...this is helpful and I am thinking the same about the bathroom setup at the tower. Good to know transportation at WL seems better.

I can't speak on the pools, didn't really use CSR pool and only been in WL pool once, but I would say to go with WL. Buses have always been fine from WL shared with other resorts. You also have access to 2 pools at WL--including the DVC pool.

Thanks leaning towards WL....nice to save some money which is why I am considering CSR but sounds like we might be happier overall at WL.

I stayed at CSR a long time ago before we bought DVC in 2004. Stayed at WL last year and 4 or 5 other times. To star CSR is an AK resort on the other side of the highway from the all stars and about a mile before AKL on the same highway. With that you will be bery close to AK and a lot closer to EPCOT and HS and DS then WL. So you may save 4-5 minutes of bus time if that matters but that could be Eaten up by the extra internal stops…. So now the transportation myths are out of the way…. But MK is very close to WL very fast by bus and boat. Whike boat is longer the walk to MK is shorter 🤷‍♂️. I do not recall the slide at CSR but the slide at WL is ok nothing great but fun enough. WL is a much more compact resort and everything is close I do recall it was a hike to the CSR pool. WL has 2 pools the main with a slide and the so called DVC pool which is salt water if that matters. Both pools are nice and easy to walk to. WL is a far more relaxed and very well themed with a lot of nice indoor areas 2 good CS one of which also has a bar/ sit down option with a larger menu as well as a good TS indoor bar/lounge. CSR had a good CS no idea if that changed and we never ate in the TS. Personally I think teens will like WL better then CSR as there is always something to do including the water parade at night and you can see the higher MK fireworks standing near the water. The theming as I said is very well done. Check out both lobbies if you stay there the DVC side or BR has a train room with history from Walt Disney personal ride on train. The bus from WL are only shared to DS and off peak times not n the morning or night. The DS bus was stopping at CR so easy to get to monorail resorts previous it was GF. Both resorts are nice but it is hard to compare a moderate with a deluxe mainly due to the style of the rooms as moderates are still based on sort of a motel with a window in the front of the room where as deluxe will have a balcony/ maybe just windows on few at the back of the room. The grounds at deluxe are also themed nicer with nice lobbies. That’s not to say value and moderates are not themed well just a different feel.

I stayed at Coronado in 2021 and I love the resort, especially if you stay in the tower. Only moderate where there is no need to go outside the building if you want food (the quick service breakfast isn't good) but there are lots of food options. Transportation was relatively quick to all the parks and our wait for a bus never exceeded 5 minutes. We may have been lucky there. As for the pool, it is a short walk from the tower and has plenty of seating and space to swim. The waterslide is pretty good, has a few twists and turns and I think a little sprinkler if my memory is right. The hot tub is the biggest on the property.

Never stayed at WL but it is on my bucket list!

We did a split stay at these exact two resorts a few years back. Stayed in the tower for few nights and hopped over to WL to finish out the vacation. Luggage was moved for us and all in all it was pretty easy. Not sure if they still allow that but it does save a little money too.

I have stayed at both resorts. WL wins big time. WL is one of my favorite WDW resorts, while CSR is my least favorite moderate resort. I would only stay at CSR over WL if staying at WL creates a significant financial burden.

If you can afford it, definitely WL. The transportation there is fine, if that's your main concern. And CSR has several internal bus stops

The lodge is beautiful, the rooms are lovely, you'll have a balcony, which CSR doesn't have, and, in general, it's just a much, much nicer resort than CSR.

CSR is a great moderate, and we've stayed there several times, however WL is a much better experience for us. You feel like your staying in an isolated resort, yet you are just a short bus or boat ride to all of the excitement. I am biased to WL as it's our favorite, in fact our trip this fall will be our 15th stay there!
