Coronado Springs or Port Orleans Riverside?

We currently have reservations for 6 nights at the Coronado Springs (2 adults & one child) and I am wondering if I have made the right choice. Also, does PO-R have coffee pots in the rooms like the CSR does? Suggestions please?

I think you've made an excellent choice. My family (dh, myself and 2 ds) have stayed there twice. My boys, 7 and 9, absolutely love the dig site pool and it is a beautiful resort. Some have complained that it is too spread out...I must say that is one thing I love about it!

We are going again in May and my family voted to stay there again even after looking at photos of the other resorts (including deluxes)!

The only negative: my husband detests the Pepper Market...my sons and I love it!

I think you'll be happy with Coronado, but I have several friends who have stayed at Riverside and loved it as well.

Good luck to you!

You will love CSR. Ask for Cabanas section that way the walk to the main building and the Dig Site is not too far. Try to rent a surrey bike so you can check out the other sections, Casitas and Ranchos. We had a wonderful time here. The food court, well...it's ok. Other resorts have much better food, my opinion. I would stay here again.

My family and I stayed at Coronado Springs May 2003 and we loved it also. The Coronado gives you some of the amineties that the Deluxe resorts give you. It's by far the best Moderate resort.

Yes, Request the Cabanas 9b. They are close to the main building and the main bus stop. Not far either from the Dig Site.

Hi! In 2002, we decided to split our stay between these two particular resorts. The beginning of our stay was at POR. My husband, myself and our DSs (ages 5,7) loved POR for it's beauty. Lots of trees, flowers, wildlife, the water etc. We enjoyed the foodcourt as it had something for everyone, even picky eaters. When we switched to CS, we were greatly disappointed. Perhaps it was because it was so different than POR. It seemed so huge and too hot. Where was all the shade? After spending all day in the boiling hot parks, I needed some shade! I s'pose we were used to the theming of POR and didnt take into consideration how the change might affect us. At CS we had a first floor room and could hear every move the people above us made. We could even hear their conversation and each time they opened a dresser drawer. Also, pepper market was too specialized for us. We were used to hanging out and grabbing what we wanted - not being seated and served and paying for that. Also at pepper market, we had a terrible time understanding the food court workers. Yes, the kids loved the pool, but my husband and I didnt care for the resort - we switched back to POR the very next day and felt like we had come home - and that's where we are headed this May.

IMO it's just what type of theming/food court appeals to you. Both resorts are beautiful, but our family definitely votes for the quite shade of POR. Have fun!:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

Thanks for the helpful info! It is such a hard decision since this is the first time for dh & dd to go. This is my first time to stay on premises. I am so excited and can't wait until May!!!

I stayed at POR this past September and cannot wait to go back. To me it is like a Deluxe at a Moderate price, to me this hotel is the greatest value on WDW property(JMHO). I had a room in the mansions and it was great! The room was elegant without being stuffy and my view(indirect view of the river, direct view of the fountain in Oak Manor) was spectacular. I highly recommend this resort, especially a room in the mansions.

PS. Go to wdwig.com to check out Deb Will's review of the POR.Hope you have a great trip.

We've stayed at both and are going back to POR in March after much agonizing between them. One thing I noticed and have not seen mentioned is the bus transportation for CS seemed a bit slower we waited quite a while for them to show up at the parks(not the resort end of it) and the bus depot for CS was always far away from the other depot sites. But on the flip side POR buses seemed to be more crowded actually on the bus. The bottom line is they are both great and you will have fun at either one.

We have stayed at both too. I vote for POR. It seems like it is centrally located to everything.

We liked CSR. But if we had our choice we would not stay there.
We feel that it is far from everything. Bus rides / car rides are a bit longer. The other thing is that it is a "convention" resort. And that means higher prices at the PM and the sit down resturant.

Other than what I mentioned above...the resort is beautiful.

But we just love POR.

We have stayed at both. Both have a very different feel. POR is much smaller but CS is beautiful, especially at night. Myself and my girls loved the Pepper Market -- hubby did not care for it. POR food court has pretty good as well. I liked both, hubby preferred POR.

I'm so excited to read these posts, we are going to POR in a few weeks. We've never stayed at a moderate, but chose POR after reading many posts on this site. Can't wait to get there!
