I love to buy local corn. It's better than anything from the frozen foods aisle.

love it hot off the grill =)

but I can't eat it off the cob right now with braces, so i have to cut mine off with a knife LOL

My DH used to grow THE BEST corn I ever had, but stopped because he got fed up with battling the raccoons and the squirrels who'd destroy his crop.

Yes, the ones from the local farmstands have the most amazing flavor and that crisp bite...oh my!:)

Welcome summer!:)

Even the big grocery stores here sell local corn - it's best bought at the farmer's market though! (which reminds me - I gotta shower & dress & go down the street to the little Sunday farmers market - missed the big one on Saturday.)

Yes - I really love it. Our supermarket carries local corn and it's just as good as picking it up on the roadside stands, but not as much fun.:D

OMG, a summer favorite. How can you not love it????

Hubby grows his own in the garden, the butter and sugar corn is to die for. We've been getting tons of strawberries, too. And he does a fantastic job of canning tomatoes and he makes blue-ribbon fair pickles, as well.

He's a pretty terrific guy!!

:) The Fresher, THE Better!!!!!!!!nana2tots

Absolutely love corn on the cob...especially in the summer and I too love it hot off the grill:D

Ymmmm, hot corn on the cob and home grown, sliced, chilled, tomatoes. Throw your favorite protein on the grill.......THAT's summer!

Love it but it's still a bit early to find it at the roadside stands.

I've never had it cooked on the grill.......how do you do that without burning/charring it or is that how it's supposed to be? (I do like charred red, green, yellow peppers and other vegies done on the grill.....)

Love it, but it hasn't made its way out of the ground yet around here. So for now we go without. We really only buy the local stuff.

Yes, I love corn on the cob... we don't get it fresh tho. :( Living in Alaska it's all frozen.

Absolutely!!

as long as a toothpick or some dental floss is handy........

Sweet corn on the cob is the best. My Grandpa is a retired corn farmer so I love it! :)

YUM! YES!!! I love corn on the cob! Dh does not like it, and Ds#1 doesn't care for it too much either....But DS#2 and I can polish off a corn cob or two a piece, no problem. :teeth:

The best corn I've ever had was when I lived in PA on the NJ border. It was so fresh (bought at Farmer's market that morning) that it totally spoiled me . The regular stuff in the grocery store (even when I lived in CA where the produce is usually great) just couldn't match that NJ corn.

Frozen corn is to fresh corn what canned asparagus is to fresh asparagus.
