We stayed in Ranchos and really liked the location! Not sure why this is such an unpopular area, but we were just about in the back of the resort, right next to the parking lot, and we had about a 1-2 minute walk to TWO bus stops so it was super convenient at the end of a long day to walk back to our room. Very quiet also.
There was a quiet pool right by our building along with laundry, and the Dig Site Pool was just a few minutes walk away (nice for getting refills in our mugs) and the El Centro building was another short walk away. I've read comments where it seems like the Ranchos are a 15-minute walk from El Centro, but honestly it was a quick short walk in the morning - very peaceful and relaxing - to get my morning coffee.
