Coral Reef

It is pricey. The food is fairly good and mostly - as you would expect - fish. They have other options and a kids meal. The atmosphere is nice - it is pretty relaxing watching the fish in the tank - after a meal and a few drinks, I could have went to sleep! ;) I will probably not be returning because it is over-priced. Not awful, but far from a good value.

I enjoyed our meal there. The dinner we had there and the one at Hollywood Brown Derby were our two best dinners during our trip. I had tilapia and my daughter tried the mahi mahi (on the kid's menu). We had the jumbo shrimp appetizer and she enjoyed the "make it yourself" kid's sundae while I enjoyed an after dinner drink. I didn't think it was overpriced for the type of restaurant it is, the menu choices and service. The prices were comparable to fine dining establishments where I live, so it was about what I expected. I will definitely return on a future trip.

We ate the last December and the food was great. I had the Steak and Lobster meal!! It was so good I'm planning on returning there on our next visit!! :cool1: :goodvibes It is pricey just prepare yourself for sticker shock.

You'll find a lot of reviews on Coral Reef on these boards, and people go both ways, though I tend to notice more negative reviews.

As with most places at Disney, we tend to go for the atmosphere. I'm a seafood person, so I would probably save some money with this particular restaurant regarding the dining plan, moreso than other restaurants where I'd have to force myself to order the most expensive item to realize any savings.

I was also thinking of the Coral Reef as my 2* TS restaurant because of atmosphere alone.

SuzEm: Both Tilapia and Mahi-Mahi are very inexpensive dishes on Cape Cod but being from MN I am sure you really enjoyed them as we do here.

Once I looked at the prices (regardless of the dining plan) that were being charged, I think we've changed our minds. Of course, I can get seafood anytime but a really good steak might change my view....

We went there for dinner on our last trip. It was our most expensive meal, and I really didn't enjoy it. I didn't hate it, but I don't see myself going back. I had a much better experience at Whispering Canyon, Rain Forest, the Epcot restaurants, etc.

To be fair though, we aren't big on seafood.

A fellow New Englander here who was not impressed with this restaurant. The quality of the food did not match up to the price for us. We can get much better seafood at home. The atmosphere with the big tank is nice so go for a drink and dessert or appetizer. princess: :earboy2:
