Any recent reviews of Coral Reef?

I have it booked but am now second guessing myself - I like places that have things so the my daughter does not get bored ( so I can have a relaxing meal) I thought coral reef would be a good option?

My other thought was the Mexico or Germany in the world showcase.

Any thoughts?

We loved coral reef !!!!! The food was excellent and honestly the two of us were like little kids pointing at the sharks every time they swam by. I think your family would love it !!! I did have a review of the restaraunt from March. If you do a search, you could probaly find it.

This is one of the only restaurants at WDW were the portions are quite small. There isnt a big choice on the menu and on the last two occassions I've eaten there the food was lukewarm. The atmosphere is excellent. I would go and try it for yourself.

Although I don't have kids yet, I will say that lots of the kids I've seen in the Coral Reef seem to like it. Be sure to ask for a seat right next to the glass of the tank.

Not sure if they still do this, but they give the kids crayons and a sheet that helps them find the fish. I even had one of them ask me if I could see the shark hidding in the tank. If you go at the right time (usually after 5pm), they can even interact with the divers swimming around in the tank.

The atmosphere is awesome!! However the portions are small and if you have "simple" tastes the food is terrible. I had an appetizer only and although small I couldn't finish it because I didn't like it. I would highly recommend going for dessert though. I think we had cheesecake of some kind and that was GREAT!! And maybe it's just me but I thought the food was WAY overpriced - we had two appetizers and shared a dessert and it was our most expensive meal in the "World" that year.

We ate there in Aug. and didn't find the portions small at all. We did have appetizers and dessert with our meal though. We ate there with 3 DDs. The youngest was 14 months, and she managed to stay occupied through out the meal. The scuba divers were feeding the fish while we ate. We had a seat right next to the tank and it was wonderful! We also do love Biergarten too! The food and entertainment is great!

I think a must-do!!! My kids have requested to go back!! Get there for an early PS if possible. We arrived at 5:15 on last trip and restaurant was empty. We were sat in front of the tank and while DH and I read menu --our server took the kids off to the side of tank to helpthem locate the sharks!! Kids are kept busy looking for the divers too.

Finally just when they've reached their limit on sitting in a restaurant out comes each ones own make your own sundae to make at the table so we can enjoy coffee and dessert. (OF course we had to pay for the sundaes but it was worth it!!)

WE have eaten there on each of last 2 trips and are have PS again for this July--we really enjoyed food too!!

We ate there last December and DH and I liked the food very much. It was the best meal we had at WDW. We jut wish DS4 and DS2 had let us enjoy the food. We sat next to the tank. The fish occupied them for 10 minutes. The crayons and fish book amused them for another 10. It went downhill from there. One problem was that their kids meal menu didn't appeal to them--no chicken fingers, spaghetti, hamburger or hot dogs. Antoher was that the restaurant was a bit dark. Not terribly dark, but dark enough for them to want to leave ASAP. We would wait a few more years before we go back, but we WILL go back.

I don't know, but we're trying it in 12 days!!! I have 3 boys, ages 7,5, and 1 so I'll give you a report when we return! We made PS for lunch....less fight for a tank seat and less money!

Had lunch there in Nov. It was great. I am a simple eater and was able to get baked haddock and a twice baked potato. DD loved the grilled chicken breast and they made her chef for the day. They took pictures and gave her a chef hat and coat and a free dessert (PB playdough) the chef brought it our himself.
DG loved her bisque and DH liked the pirranah (sp) but it is boney. Sat by the tank and service was excellent. The divers spent lots of time feeding the fish in front of DD seat. It was the best and we will do it again.:)

Hi everyone, thanx for the feedback on Coral Reef....

Tinks - looking forward to your report! Have a fun trip
