Coral reef- kids dont want to eat!

I have had a chat with my girls.DD will try the pizza and DD will try the NY strip.
I said thank you for doing that for me and have promised they can get a CS if they dont like what they order.
Normally I would just make them choose something and tell them to eat it or go hungry!
Kids food in the US is not the same as here in the UK.my kids just dont have mac and cheese or PBJ sandwiches  We wont have this problem over here as they would know what they were getting
DD8 would love a jacket potatoe with tuna but cant find that on any WDW menu or chicken nugget and fries on many.

At 1 1/2 they are too young to notice or care where they eat (I would think) and at 4, 5, 8, or 13 -- I agree with a pp that it's time to learn that the world, even WDW:lmao: doesn't revolve around them. I agree that we, as a nation, and many of us baby boomers, forget this and IMHO are doing our children a great disservice in allowing them to think it does. Okay, off my soapbox.

Yes, agreed. WE give in to our children too much these days. They do think the world revolves around them. Bring them with, and if they don't like anything, they'll just have to sit there. I bring my 2 year old who is not one for sitting still, he's always fine for a bit while he eats, then I have his toys that he can play with. When he's finally tired of everything my husband and I take turns walking him around by the sitting areas, etc. But slowly he's begun to realize he just has to sit in his high chair and get over it, and he's getting better at it. I never feed them ahead of time, I always find something they can eat, or bring my own food for him. By feeding them ahead of time, it's giving into them as well. there must be something they can eat.

I see no reason to make my girls "just sit there".This isnt a behavour problem.
My girls are very well behaved when we eat out, even from being very young they have know to sit down and behave in resturants, there is nothing worse than badly behaved children running riot in resturants.
The issue is simply that they do not like many things on the menu and I totally agree there are not many things they would normally eat.I was simply trying to sort things out so they would be ok when we got there.
I took your remarks rather personally,I know full well how to bring my children up to be well behaved and well mannered, looking ahead to solve a possible problem is not "giving in to them"its treating them with respect as a person in there own right. If there we three items on the menu I knew they liked they would be told to choose something and eat it.
What is the difference between you finding your own child something to eat or bring your own and me trying to find something my children like or feeding them else where?

I wasn't trying to offend you. I'm just generalizing that so many parents today let their children decide what is what. I'm not saying that that's what you're doing. Whatever you need to do to make it work is great. IMO, I just think children should eat at the same time with the parents when eating out.
Unless they are infants. etc. My parents dragged me to many a place where I didn't like what was on the menu, but I had to find something. (and do I remember how annoying it was, but that's what was expected) That was the 70's. It's just a different world out there now. Hope all goes well for you, good luck.
