copyright issues on paper piecings

Does anyone know if there are any copyright issues for paper piecings that are to be sold? It seems to me like there would be, but I have seen quite a few piecings on ebay that are disney related and most even include the word "Disney" in the title. Thanks.

I don't have an answer, Michelle. It's a good question though.

My friend does machine embroidery and her patterns specifically state that she is not allowed to sell anything she makes using the Disney patterns. Though I have been on the receiving end of many gifts using her Disney patterns
