(Copycat Thread) - Anyone have a DW who doesn't get WDW planning?

It must be a math thing.

My DW does not understand the importance of knowing that we have 6,179,874 seconds till we leave for WDW.

DW is happy that I do it, but I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm obsessive.

As far as I can tell, she's decided that of all the potential "hobbies" a husband might acquire, vacation planning is about as benign as they get. ;)

Count me in. I tell DW there's a reason our trips have been so memorable. ;)

I think we need a club too :) We could be the "Da-Da Brotherhood". DW mocks me and laughs at my detail to planning(which is nowhere near the level it was our first 25 or so trips). :confused3 :earsboy:

Wow - i wish i had a husband to do all the planning for me. And it's not like i have the time either - but i do love it! My new partner has never been to wdw before and i think the planning - especially the time it takes me is irritating him a little but he says he is happy to go along with what i organise.

And the planning is so worth it isn't it? My kids and husbands complained once about all my planning and making them get up early and take a nap - so i let them wing it for one day, and they hated it!

Count me in too! Constant planning and re-planning. Buying home made parade and fireworks DVD's off of E-bay. Always looking to improve trip or find a better deal. Made all our ADR's and daily plans. Two months until December trip and I'm already looking to book for May. My DW just sits back and says " just tell me when to get on the plane."

Enough of this, I'm wasting valuable time searching for some insignificant piece of information to add to my Disney Notes. What's it going to be like if The BOSOX loose tommorow?

Here's another planner of the family. I just discovered the DIS when I was planning our trip this past Labor Day weekend. My wife chuckled at me all the time when I was planning, but she sure had a great trip. Even said during the trip she couldn't believe I knew all of this. I even got great deals on stuff I bought for my two DDs (DD4 and DD7) to give to them at WDW such as princess dresses for $17 for their princess breakfast, last year's Pal Mickeys for $20, and pins for trading from MousePinsOnline. We had such a great time, and now I'm starting to think about when we can go back.

:cool1:

Since us planning guys seem to be a minority on this board, maybe we can advertise ourselves more with little banner ads in our sig? Just something fun.

I have come up with couple, with "Da-Da Brotherhood" taken from the thread here.

So, what do you guys think?

Not a DW (yet at least), but my DG/F love WDW, but does not at all get why I spend hours looking at Park Hours and Times and Schedules and everything else to make our trip perfect!

Then again, we usually throw them out the window when we get there, but its fun to plan anyway!

My wife can't stand the amount of time and money I put into a disney vacation. At least I'm not alone. ::MickeyMo

The "Man Can Plan" banner is really, really cool! :cool1: I like it. Now, how do you get the sig? :confused3

I am so jealous of all your DWs. How nice to have a man take an interest in planning a trip to WDW never mind doing the actual planning! My DH is in the "just tell me what time to get on the plane" group. Now if only I could find a nice single Disney-loving guy for my best friend. You have given me hope though because I wasn't sure too many existed. Plan on!

Yep, count me in.
We made our first WDW trip this past May. I spent 3 months reading guidebooks, browsing the DIS and TGM, watching the planning DVD, etc. I spent so much time on it and was so obsessed that my wife pretty much banned me from saying the D word. You know you are going overboard when even your kids don't want to hear about Disney anymore. I'm not normally an organized person, so DW thought it was pretty amusing that I was making up itineraries and putting together information booklets with touring plans, parade viewing tips, etc., etc. She made fun of me quite a bit.

But our trip was so much fun that now she almost "gets it". So now that I'm planning for our trip next March, she doesn't complain about my planning at all. She gives me the occasional eye roll and smile, but no complaining.

Go to User Control Panel (User CP) - you will find this in the upper left area of the browser window. Click on that. When you get to the new page, one of the option is Edit Signature. Click on that. Then, you can add images to your sig.

You can either copy the banner image to your own storage location or you can link it directly from the site -

Hope this helps :)

It is nice to know we now have a place to go for support. I have all the Disney shows on our Tivo's. Everytime I watch them with the kids, my wife says, "Again!"

I am truly relieved to find I am not alone in this. My DW thinks I am nuts for all the time I spend planning our vacations. I even planned and took my 3 kids and 3 of their friends for a week last month..... My DW had to work, and could not go, so it was me and the six kids..... Hmm, maybe I am nuts...

LOL.
This morning, the kids and I just watched the Disney's Imagineers show we had recorded and my wife's exact words were:
"How many times can you watch these shows?"
