(Copycat Thread) - Anyone have a DW who doesn't get WDW planning?

I'm definitely The Planner in our house. My DW loves our trips when we're on them, and it usually lasts for a couple of weeks after. But then it fades and I'm relegated to the DIS boards to find anyone who's as into it as I am.
I plan everything but the suitcases for our trips: flights, car/limo, resort(s), restaurant reservations, special activities (i.e., horseback riding, boating, etc.), park passes, etc. I've even planned other peoples' trips to both WDW and UO that I am not even going with!
I can't figure out if this is a sickness or not. :rotfl:

We left my wife home on our last visit as she just can't stand WDW. My two DDs and I had a great time and will probably leave her home on our next trip as well. BTW, she was happy to stay and has yet to look at our pictures and videos.

Sign me up for the club as well!

I am glad to see that there are MEN out there that like to plan! My DH would never plan anything. Now that I am doing the planning, my DD and DGDS have a great time!! They laugh and roll their eyes at me when I start to plan a trip {which I am constantly doing} but they do appreciate me and the work!! Keep on plannin' Guys!! :goodvibes

bump... trying to see if I have the signature thing figured out yet.

OK, I need some advice here. I posted this on the resorts board and theme park board, but I thought I could ask my support group here too.

My family: me, DW, DD7, and DD4, took a quick trip over Labor Day weekend. It was only 3 full days, and it just whetted my appetite for a full blown Disney trip. We went to MK, EPCOT, and MGM.

My DD7 has off school Friday, 11/11. My wife is away for a conference starting that day, and I will be home with the girls all week. I'm toying with the idea of taking the girls to Disney, just for the weekend, to go to Animal Kingdom - which we didn't get to do on our trip in September. Am I insane?

Sue Ellen at DU was able to reserve a room for us at All Star Movies for $100.57/night (with tax) for 2 nights for the weekend. She's been great. I would still need to get park tickets, and a flight down from Upstate NY.

My calculations are:
All Star Movies Room: $201.14
1 day park tix: $165.87
Total: $367.01

Now, if I can't get a cheap airfare down to Orlando, I can't go, but should I even be considering this anyway? What do you all think? I'm wondering if I should just save my money for a longer trip some other time.

Trip with DD's priceless

Yes if the air is cheap then go SW.ding should do it for you

And as for this thread all I get is I trust you Dear you have not let us down yet.
I do it all and love doing it .When people start to talk of coming with us DW warns them of needed a VAC . when they get back to rest then shows them 1 of my DVD's that i make from the trip and they are hooked.
I don't rush the parks just take advantage of every possible minute I can

Peace T

OK, I've been really thinking long and hard about this, and right now (although it could change) I am leaning towards not taking this trip. It really just seems a little too extravagant right now. We could use that money towards other things - like the upcoming holidays, and it would be nice to say that when we go to Disney it's the whole family. O'hana.

I'm thinking that maybe my daughters and I can have some good 1 on 1 time right here at home, and save that money for maybe a longer trip later. I was thinking we could take a longer trip for spring break in 2007, but maybe we could do a mini-trip for spring break 2006 and see Animal Kingdom.

Yeah, I would vote for a longer trip than just a one day trip to WDW. It's not like you're local :)

I think she gets it but thinks I'm obsessed. She doesn't understand how I can spend hours on the DIS.

I am the vacation planner too. She just wants to know where are we going and what time does she have to be there. :cool1: :confused3
