I just got a 550 and wanted to know if anyone has any tips on taking crisp clear pictures. Everything seems to come out blurry.:guilty:

My DH suggested I read the manual, but I told him I would rather read the DIS!:teeth:

I got one for Christmas too but I haven't taken any pictures. I'll play with it over the weekend.

Well, I played a little more and I think my main problem is indoor pictures. Outdoors seem to be fine, so maybe if you can find out something, I would love some suggestions.:)

While I understand the desire to just ask everyone on here for help since it's easier than reading through a confusing manual, you'd be suprised how much you'll learn about your camera if you take the time to read it. If you plan to use your camera a lot, it will definitely be a benefit to know what all of the controls do, etc.

Outdoor photos should be much easier than indoor with a point and shoot camera, handheld. Outside there is much more light whereas indoors is usually dim lighting unless you switch on all of the lamps (unless you are using a flash).

One thing to try is to use something to stabilize the camera while you take a photo indoors (i.e. a tripod, a table, a beanbag, something). Another tip is to boost the ISO on your camera to make it as sensitive to light as possible.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tips.:) I had a Canon point and shoot and have always liked it alot. I got this one for the holidays and just can't get used to it. My DSLR is a Canon and I think I am just a Canon person at heart.:)

After reading this thread I got my manual out and I'm so happy with my camera. I can't wait for my Oct trip!
