Thanks for the great idea,
We did this in March and I never thought to get just the Disney pieces and add cheap Potato Head to make up gifts for people, I will be using this idea for our November trip to send to Nieces and Nephews who will be going to WDW in June 2004( I think I feel a June trip coming into my future....Of course, I think I would also like to try that DL place, so who knows.)
We did this at Once Upon a Toy in DD and We got alot of pieces in our box, the castmember at the register kept looking in our box and sending us back for more pieces to shove in there. My kids thought she was the best since they were spending there money on it, they really appreciated her assistance with there getting the biggest bang for there buck!
She also was incrediebly(?)helpful with telling my son, who was going to do the Lincoln log boxes that they had 3 sets reduced that he could get for the same amount, if not more pieces and these at least where Disney themed, with the boxes of logs, you didn't get anything Disney, with the sets you got all the main Characters(Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy etc) dressed as Cowboys and Indians.
I think this is one more thing that has amazed us about WDW it doesn't matter what budget you are on, they are always willing to accomodate and assist. After the first trip I have never given my kids more than a $40 spending limit and have ALWAYS had castmembers who knew just the perfect item within there budget, while at the same time pleasing a mom who doesn't want to bring home something I could easily pick up at
Walmart!
