Beach Club SAB Pool

If your goal is to sit in a chair under an umbrella just go to the empty DVC pool thats right next to your room.

I told my niece that same thing, apparently I am a foolish boomer who doesn't understand that that is not why she spent days finding the right suit

I've been following Beach club videos and reports for a while. Before the renovation, everyone seemed to say that it was very easy to find pool chairs. Since the reopening, I have seen videos where people couldn't find a pool chair or it took 20 minutes to find one. It makes me think it's just the reopening and "new" or wanting to be one of the first people to use it type of thing. I'll find out soon!

I was very happy to see Tim Tracker stop an interview and correct someone who was advocating breaking the rules r/t parking at BC in an interview. I have also see Mammoth club quote rules right in the video about not pool hopping. Most have stoped filming in pools as well.

So it looks like the big ones in general are holding up to Disney rules.

My own two cents is that SAB is overrated. The lazy river is DEEP and FAST. Its a difficult pool to watch children in - the sightlines are horrible. You either want small kids - small enough that they will be happy in the zero entry part of the pool - or kids who are pretty strong swimmers - or no kids at all. I also hate walking through the lobby in my suit to get to the pool. We haven't been in years so I can't speak to it being nuts - but I suspect it depends on when you go - there are probably plenty of chairs in February. If you want a waterpark resort, skip Disneyworld and go to Aulani.

Agree! One of the reasons I will never stay at the Beach Club again. No place to sit together at SAB and I'm NOT rope dropping a pool. And people in wet bathing suits in the lobby sitting on furniture - gross! It would not be relaxing to try and constantly keep an eye on young kids who are not strong swimmers. It's easy to float away from the shallow water. But, some people love it and it is a good location.

I am not a fan of it and definitely when we have stayed BCV, we used the villa pool more.

It is crazy busy and finding chairs was not easy. I honestly love the relaxing feel of both pools at RIV!!

In my opinion everything at RIV is exemplary.

We are going in the week prior to LD; so I'm hoping the summer crowds will be less. Thankfully we are just doing BCV for one night and then switching over to SSR for a week.

Really appreciate everyone's thoughts. I think I'm leaning toward sticking with RIV for this trip (and possibly SSR or OKW if I decide I want to save points given it is Easter week). I do want to try BC at some point, but maybe I wait for a trip where the kids are both good swimmers, can be a little more trusted to go off on their own, and we visit during more of an off peak time for the pool.

Of course, continue to welcome anyone's thoughts.

Planning to be at BCV next month. It’s one of our home properties and our kids LOVE the slide but I do not love that I either have to go with them or I have to trust they are getting outside the hotel gate and across the walking path to the waterslide without doing anything dangerous. They are almost old enough that the latter option will be no big deal — but not quite.

We never rope drop anything, but also we had no trouble finding a couple of chairs by where the waterslide spits out (which is often shady).

I’ve never tried the lazy river but am going to try to check it out now that I know it’s not so lazy. My kids do LOVE the whirlpool for about 30-45 minutes.

I promised my husband I wouldn’t make him go to the parks between like 1-6pm each day; so I should have a lot of time to report from the pool.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I don't equate the Beach Club with Stormalong Bay. I absolutely LOVE the Beach Club, but I have no interest in SAB. Mom didn't let me go in the water until I learned to swim (?) and she had a brother who'd drowned as a child so instilled a big fear of the water. But I find there are so many other things to love about the resort. However I understand that for lots of people SAB is a big draw.

My four year old LOVES the slide more than anything else at Disney World (went on it when he was newly four). We didn't do the lazy river at all, but the kids loved it and we are going for my son's birthday. I'd highly recommend, it's a great time.
