Hi, This May we are sort of a Grand Gathering of 11 people including 5 kids. We have a 2 BR and a studio. I shudder at the thought of all of us eating a meal inside together (that is not so grand). We are taking the auto train down and can bring a bunch of stuff. I thought we would have a cookout - burgers and such - by the quiet pool one evening. Another night we plan a pizza party by the quiet pool...delivery by Papa Johns with salad and dessert. Has anyone ever done this? Does this sound OK? I don't want to overstep any boundary or rule.

The deal is we are there for 12 nights, and I really don't want to eat out every night, but I don't want to cook much either.

I'm not sure if there are any rules to be concerned about, but I think your ideas sound great. Have a wonderful and fun trip!!

Pizza party sounds easy to do....but I am not sure about cook outs. You may want to check with MS first.

Hope you have a great time. :wave2:

..... there are two charcoal grills at the quit pool and I have seen signs that they were used. Have fun.

I have never noticed the BBQ grills near the quiet pool. Just where are they located?

By the way, there is a great pizza place that delivers, Giordano's.

Really, relaly good pizza.

There is a little promanade that runs along the canal, sorta between the hot tub & the bathhouse. About midway down the walkway are two grills.

I remember seeing one grill and picnic table just a little bit away from the pool along the path next to the canal. It was in a little alcove surrounded by dunes and sea oats? There might have been more but I remembered that one.

I didn't know there were grills either. Thanks ! I think your plan sounds great- have a grand time!

This should be fine. Earlier this year we had about 30 people get together at the BWV quiet pool. We had a deli tray from Winn-Dixie. Before anyone complains we did call BW and get approval before doing this. This was an evening in Jan and no one else was in the pool so that could have had something to do with it, although when we called they said that they have people do this all the time.

We grilled steaks there last summer. My bil said he got some interesting looks on his way back up to the villa. We cooked other stuff in the room and so we ate in the room but outside would be fine. It was late July so we needed the air conditioner, inside was better.
IMHO, you call make a courtesy call to guest services if you want, but as long as you did not over power the whole area I see no need for concern. You may get some questions from other guests who think they are missing something, but hey that's what DVC is all about, families and friends getting together to have a great time.

Thanks for the great tips and feedback. I will definately post how this went...I am going to make that courtesy call; it can't hurt.

RweTHEREyet - Thanks for the tip on the good pizza. I've added it to my list of numbers & places I take to WDW. I just printed the menu too! Sounds yummy - we just had a "bag" for dinner
:( you know, the frozen bags of stuff that sounds like it will be good, but tastes terrible. Sandie
