Converting ticket to Annual Pass/MM

I have added a 7-day base ticket to our package, and am interested in information about upgrading my ticket to an Annual Pass (likely Platinum).

I am also interested in the benefit of Memory Maker with the AP, so if I want to use that feature during our 3/2016 trip, am I able to upgrade my ticket when I get to Guest Services our first day? I was not sure if that would be enough time to activate, as typically I have purchased MM ahead of time, and know there is supposed to be a 3 day lead time on the purchase.

Also, I am considering adding Park Hoppers when we get there as well, as I am not sure yet that we will use them (although, love PH with past trips!). Is that something I can just start using with the Annual Pass as well with the upgrade? The cost of upgrading my base ticket to a PH would then be applied to my overall AP cost as well, correct?

Yes, you can upgrade on the 1st day at guest services. They will credit what you've already paid for tickets towards the AP cost & you will owe the difference. You will have park hopping once you've paid & get the card. Be sure to tell them you had already purchased MM as likely they will apply that credit as well, but I don't think it is guaranteed.

You won't need to do a thing about PH. An AP does that already.
All you want to do is pay the difference between your 7 day ticket and the AP
While an AP gives you the same things as MM it's not MM. It's just free downloads of all photos in Photopass, so no waiting period applies.
If you have an AP, when you look at the photos in Photopass account you'll see they don't have the watermark on them. You'll be able to download right away.

Quick question about upgrading- does everyone in your party have to upgrade at the same time? My DH and I are thinking of going next year with my SIL and her daughter, and I know we might be interested in upgrading, but my SIL wouldn't. Thanks!

I'm not the OP but I'm interested in this as well because we plan to do the same. I think AngiTN answered most of the questions but I'm not clear on the Photopass and how easily and quickly it can be activated.

In my case, one person in our party wants to purchase MM but they aren't upgrading to AP. I plan to upgrade to AP but I don't want to tell the other person not to pre-purchase MM if there might be an issue with all of us being able to use the Photopass during our visit. I'm thinking maybe we won't have Photopass set up for the 1st day but can hopefully use it during the remainder of the visit if I upgrade to AP on day one.

Hope I'm not hijacking...:o

So happens we did this last month
DH, me and DGD have AP but the old type without photopass
We brought DD with us last trip
We're going with her again in April so I upgraded her to an AP. Her's is the new type with photos
She is on my friends list on MDE
Because she's on my list I now have all the photos for download for all of our trips in 2015, including the first picture we took 5 min after I bought her pass
And it includes pictures from trips she was not on
All it takes is 1 person on your friends list to have the new type AP

We just upgraded to AP the week after Christmas on Day 1. The Photopass download was active immediately, as far as I can tell, and it worked with photos from our trip starting at the beginning. As long as your entire party is connected and shares your photo access on MDE, you'll be able to download everyone's photos from your whole trip.
