Converting old tickets so you can use fast pass plus

I was able to work with Disney support to link some old tickets (some 9 years old) so I could do the fast pass selection on the website.

However I heard I need to take my old tickets to the ticket booth before I enter the park to convert to new form which will work for fast pass plus (we are not staying on property).

Has anyone actually done this process already? If so how long did it take? I want to get into the park right at opening so I want to plan how much earlier I need to get there in order to do this ticket swap -- especially since I have 6 of these I need to swap.

I appreciate any insights. Thanks.

Take the old tickets to any ticket booth or Guest Relations outside any theme park, at TTC or at DTD
for a quick and free swap to new plastic RFID tickets.
