Has anyone used the "convention tickets" since the new MYW plan started? Are they still the "Old Park Hopper Style" or do you have to do a finger scan?

Thanks

We haven't used ours yet, but we bought 2 2-Day PH Plus tix. They work just like PH used plus we have one admission to DQ or PI. I will let you know when we come back:) 14 days!!

My family and I used convention tickets in Feb 2005 and had no problem. Every one put their fingers in the scanner but some times we had the green light before we had a chance to scan.. I think there are the best way to go if you only want 2-3 days.

DH and I just got back and the convention tickets worked out great!! No problems what so ever and we didn't have to scan our fingers either!

Just remember, convention tickets cannot be upgraded in any way.

We used our convention tickets late January after MYW was in effect and we DID have to scan our fingers every time. Everyone except DS who's 9. My other sons and I had 3 day convention hoppers (good for all day), and DH had the after 2pm tickets but we all had to do the finger thing. Never had any problems with it, although many ahead of us did!

We had a special link through our company website where you could order. Unfortunately, the time I was ordering was exactly when they were switching over to MYW (I think we got the info on Dec 31 and MYW started Jan 2) so it was very confusing. You could call Disney directly (again with a number they provided us), but you needed your convention number from your company. I have, however, seen threads here of how people have somehow ordered convention tickets without being with a convention, but don't know how they did this.

I know our tickets were $162 for a 3 day hopper, plus one visit to Disney Quest or Pleasure Island (NOT a water park). We used it at DQ on the 4th day before we flew out. My husband's 2 day after 2pm tickets were $78 - I think the one day was like $45 but I'm not certain. I know the 4 day convention hopper was quite a bit more (I want to say $218 or so), but included 4 visits to DQ or Pleasure Island instead of 1. If it had included all plusses, like the water parks, we might have gone for that, but we're not PI people, and I couldn't see DQ 4 times!

Here's a link I found to a current convention site (Rubik's Cube convention in November that my son wants to attend :) ). The prices are even cheaper than what we got for ours (DH's company for business). It looks like anyone can purchase these as far as I can tell, but at least ours I know were only valid from 10 days prior to 10 days after the actual convention dates. The Rubik's convention is the weekend of Nov 5th, and they also get good rates at Pop ($65 a night), but would only help if you actually went that weekend.
